We are talking about trying to stretch the legs a do a little skating maybe this Thursday after work and then try again Sunday around 5:00. The weather may be a problem again this weekend. Plus we want to see the Flyers beat the Caps first.

yea but the weather has been our enemy. We tried and played for about an hour yesterday before the rain. Sunday from 5-10 seems to be a common time. there are some guys who have been playing there for a while at that time, so we have had enough for 2 teams and at least one goalie... sometimes even a couple of subs.

From what we have heard too, Leesburg rink has pickup games on Tues evenings... could be worth checking out. So plan on next Sunday if weather permits. Go Flyers!

if some of you play ice hockey, adult pick up at The Ice House is always fun every friday and saturday night.

yea we are. Last Sunday there were about 15 guys there so enough for 2 full teams and subs. There has typically been only one goalie so it would be great to find another, but that is a minor issue... There are guys that have been playing regularly for a while now on Sundays so we just joined up with them. The typical schedule is 5-10 PM Sunday evenings.

We are still looking into the possibility of weeknight but until the kids league finishes that will be next to impossible. We did hear that there might be pick-up games on Tues nights in Leesburg. This Sunday may be tough (Mother's Day) but I may still go.

I'd play goalie. I've played goalie in lacrosse in high school and college so I'm not scared to get in goal. I know it's different, but same concept. I don't have any goalie gear though. any extra laying around?

Yea I think there is always gear floating around... I will put out the word and try and make sure they bring some. Yea, as I like to say, at this age shooting the puck at all is hard enough let along with any velocity. But there are a couple of guys with a decent shot. 99% of all the action is a wrist shot so nothing too bad. And certainly you do not have to get stuck in goal, you can switch and do both too... when there is no goalie, there is a piece of plywood, with shooting holes.... darn thing is pretty hard to score on...

The group has been playing just about every Sunday (weather permitting). There have even been enough guys for 2 teams, 2 goalies and subs! Some of the guys are from the surrounding area and some are from Broadlands.... some younger and some older (and fatter!). The games seem to be between 5:00 pm and 10:00 on Sundays.
