We have a satellite radio receiver that seems to have stopped working. I went online to research buying a new one but there doesn't seem to be many to choose from and the ones that were rated well about 4 years ago seem to be essentially off the market now.

Is there something I should know? There used to be many, many different kinds for sale but now there seem to be only a few. Or is buying one that is no longer in production okay?

    Just wondering...

Stiletto 2 - had mine for a year and love it! It's a portable satellite radio, MP3 player, Internet Radio all in one. I have a home dock and a dock in both cars. You might find a good deal on it now.

Thanks. I've seen that one as being an option. Does it have an internal FM modulator or do you connect it with an adapter? My husband's Delphi MyFi had an internal FM transmitter so he just tuned the station on both radios to an open number and that was it. It seems like many of the radios require an additional connection or use of a cassette adapter. On the other hand, the car has an auxiliary input but for some reason I don't think it was working with the MyFi. We could buy another one just like it or get the Roady XT but I'm confused as to why those aren't carried by mainstream outlets anymore.

Yes it does have an internal FM transmitter, however due to FCC regulations the signal is not as strong as the older radios. You'll get better sound by using direct connections (aux. in) to your car stereo, but they do include something with the radio that will extend the FM signal so that might work just fine. I didn't bother using it since my radio had an aux. input so I turned off the FM transmitter.
