Shouldn't our HOA elected officials be impartial?

As I have said repeatedly, I am not claiming to be a victim of the decision since I have no position on the hospital. Why can't you understand that?

Finally, if don't care about the CLEAR SIGNAL that the HOA is sending about its utter disregard for the views of Broadlands residents is the real problem, I have no hope for you.

Gryphon, since most folks in this thread have you on their Ignore list, I'll take a second to reply.

Nothing anyone says or posts here will ever satisfy you. I personally believe that you're not here for actual discussion, but for the pure entertainment of it all.

Want to stand up against the tyranny of the HOA, then submit your name for the Board seat becoming available at the elections at Annual Meeting in May. Yes, I know, you're much too busy to get involved at that level. You would rather post here multiple times an hour throughout the day, behind the veil of anonymity.

Much of what you do on these forums is complain left and right about the HOA and specific people, or berate people who don't have the same 'political views' as you. When solutions are proposed, you either ignore them or claim folks are being irrational.

Add me to the list of many others who are fed up with your attitude here. I'm done discussing this subject with you.

Gryphon, from an outsider looking in, you are clearly being inflammatory and trying to bait others. You are acting like the children we work with, who like to pick fights, but then end up crying (i.e. hitting ignore) when you are called on it.

I have noticed a pattern in your posts, my friend. You latch onto a catchphrase (hostility, HOA intentional disregard lately) and keep repeating it, whether or not it has any basis in reality.

You told me before that you want to restore civility to these discussions and you bemoan the actions of "zealots." So I urge you to practice what you preach and stop accusing people.

I'm guess I'm just screaming sour grapes over wounds that have still not healed. My apologies.

Fair enough. If you ever want to discuss it, give me a call.

This post seems to imply that the only way that residents can be involved in the Broadlands community at a level acceptable to you is to be on the Board. That mentality appears to ignore the significant contributions of the volunteers on the many HOA committees and also appears to exclude the VAST MAJORITY of residents, given that there are only a handful of Board Member positions.

Also, I dispute the implication that the only way to be involved is to be a Board Member. There are many ways to get involved. As I have said in defense of Lee many times in the face of unrelenting disparaging remarks against him, he deserves respect and credit for making the community aware of what is going on. That is a valuable service, but I respect your right to disagree.

Celebrate Calm, your post does not make sense. You seem to be saying that using the forum's Ignore feature, which is being used by "most folks in this thread" (according to Mr. Linux) is being childish or the same as crying. That being said and based on Mr. Linux's earlier comment, you appear to be criticizing many of your neighbors.

Sorry, Gryphon, I refuse to give power to you and legitimize your comments when you manipulate, twist words and try to incite. I'm not responsible for your actions, but I would suggest you use all that brain power to find solutions rather than criticize.

One of the tenets of our "10 Steps to Stress-Free Living" is to "create conversations instead of confrontations." So you have a great night :)

I am not sure what Gryphon's intentions are, but I feel that people active in the HOA are being a little overly defensive. I truly appreciate what Staci, Steve, and Eric do for the community. I rarely disagree with their analyses.

I also know that it has been a long time since the HOA felt it necessary to endorse the Hospital. That having been said, I still think it was a mistake. Our HOA should not be impartial on all issues, but I believe this issue has been particularly divisive, and the HOA should not have made an official endorsement. I also don't buy the argument that elected officials do not factor such an endorsement in to their decision. (Obviously it was still turned down a few years back)

Many criticizing this decision have said they are still neutral. I don't know if that is true or not, but I am neutral as well, especially with an ailing economy. But I think this issue should have been handled differently.

Thanks again for the volunteer work!
