I tried Yen's Cafe for the first time today and wow, was it delicious.

I asked for a recommendation and the dish I had (shredded beef with dry bean curd) was outstanding. The flavors were balanced perfectly--some crispiness to the beef, an almost mushroomy taste to the bean curd, and slightly spicy. The spring rolls were incredible as wel--obviously homemade.

You can tell this place is way different from any other chinese place in the area. If you've never been, I highly recommend it. And, it's very affordable with generaous potions.

Yen's is in the shopping center with Home Depot and Giant. It's near the Red Robin.

Actually, the thai place in that shopping center, Bangrak, is also excellent (terrific curry puffs, drunken noodles, and duck in bourbon sauce).

yENS IS SPECTACULAR- i KEEP MEANING TO REVIEW THEM. oops, caps lock was on.

the taiwanese meatball soup is unlike anything i've ever tasted and a superbly hearty meal. 5 outs 5 stars on the food and service year- wish it had a better location...

Maybe if we talk them up enough they'd be able to afford a better location :)

Yen's fan, here! Their food is absolutely delicious. Another poster mentioned Bangrak - and we love their food as well. Even better, they deliver for those days when you're "having a moment" and don't feel like driving over to pick it up. ;)

OK blog readers, time to push away the keyboard and try Yen's.

Tonight was my first time at Yen's Cafe. It's unique, original, natural, healthy and damn good. This ain't your cookie cutter strip mall chinese joint. The food is authentic, very little oil, very little salt, no MSG, and creative.

As you can tell I am impressed. They are throwing all their resources into the food quality and restaurant, and relying on word of mouth advertising. So here's my shout out, give it a try.

Also, the location isn't ideal for visibility sake but it's not that difficult to get to.

I didn't try any of the dozens of fresh fruit drinks or their extensive tea menu, but hope to in the future.

Enjoy, my family did, and we'll be back.

(redon, get off your tail and do a real review :))

ooooh i KNOW!!! i started it LAST YEAR, then we went again and I changed it... i am ashamed that i haven't shouted this gem from the roof tops.

the Calpis drink is amazingly refreshing- you know you are drinking something good for you and enjoying it like a milkshake!

and agfm- YOu don't give rave reviews easily so i hope ppl take that to heart and go give Yens a try on their next cravin' for Asian!
