I'm gonna start this thread since I know other people are probably wondering the same.

Anyone or anyone's children going to be going around and shoveling or snowblowing? I am recovering from knee surgery and we have a newborn in the house so all the extra help...well....helps.

    Re: Shovelers/Snowblowers.

We already had our gas can picked up by LIl pea's hubby to fill it up so we can do their driveway. GOD blessed me 4 years ago when I walked into HD before a big late season snow was coming in, and only 3 snowblowers were left - at half price no less. Now we happily plow around our long corner, and some of the neighbors. more when the boy is home from College. Let us know.

I think this is a great idea for a thread with the impending snow storm (Thanks Broken_Skull!). I took the liberty to slightly modify the Thread Subject and I made the thread 'Sticky' so it always shows up at the top of the list for the next few days.

Anyone who is offering to help with shoveling or snowblowing, either paid or free, please post your information here.

Additionally, if you think you might need help shoveling your property, post a note here and see if someone can help you out.

This is EXACTLY - why I think Broadlands is the best community we have ever lived in.

Brassy -the Sailor Jerry's& Coke (soda that my hubby just dropped off) is also a small token of gratitude for Kaos's assistance. Since you know I am recovering from wrist surgery, there is no way I can shovel. THANK YOU SO MUCH

OK - if you are on Wintergrove between Claiborne & the little park - post up. First pass is tomorrow around 5PM. Or - stick your head out the door when you hear me and start pouring!

If you are outside of that range - post up also - I will see if I can get to you but I do NOT have 4WD. I think the Honda has 4WD Lite.

Darn, I needed this earlier this week. :-( Hubby was out of town and I'm in a cast so couldn't shovel my front walk. Now it's a sheet of ice. I was hoping the sun would melt it, but we don't get much in the front.

Napper, I'll be working from home for the next few days. If your husband needs to head out, let me know and I'll be happy to help you out with any shoveling. I also have some ice melt if you want me to put some on that ice tomorrow.

Eric, thanks a bunch. He came home today, to beat the storm. He's supposed to be heading back out Mon. for Mesa, AZ for the week, but who knows how that will go. I always hate asking for help, but might have to if we get more snow next week. Hopefully I only have another week to go with the cast, then the real pain starts! :)

I'm working from home Monday and Tuesday; I'll be happy to take care of any shoveling that might be needed while he's gone and I'm home.

Are you allowed to use that? I think the Ashburn Village HOA says we can't because it's bad for the environment or something.

Some of the ice melt products are bad for the concrete...that is probably what the HOA doesn't like.

Good to know - which ones are "safe?"

They'll usually say something like 'safe to use around grass and other vegetation". I assume if it won't kill grass and stuff, chances are it won't be potent enough to hurt concrete...
