Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I live in Broadlands, settled last July 03. This past May (04) the first floor master bathroom shower stopped in the middle of my shower. I turned it off then back on and it was fine. I thought, [:0]hmmm, okay, but let it go.

It happened again the next day. [?] So I call VM Cust Care(less) and reported it - Atlas Plumbing comes out. Nice guy, he replease the innards of the faucet handle and says there was some debris in there that might have been blocking the flow. All seems well and it works fine for a week or so.

    Then it happens again. :(

I'm pi$$ed, covered in soap, so I shake the handle. To my surprise it comes back on. I finish showering.

A week later, it happens again. More shaking the handle, and it restarts.

I call Atlas for another issue unrelated to the shower problem last week, and its the same guy. I mention the shower problem to him again, so he takes a look at it. Says the most he can do is replace the same part (forget what it was that replaced in May) but since he didn't have it on him I'd have to call it in again. I say, okay. Figure I'll call when I get a free minute.

Well of course the dang thing stops working this morning - again. :(

So after I finish thinking foul thoughts, snarling, :( swearing and marching upstairs to rinse off in the other shower, I call VM Cust Care(less) director (B Conner) and left a pointed msg that I need them to send somebody to figure out what exactly is going on. Hopefully they will call me Monday AM but, in the name of all that is holy - does ANYONE on here have ANY IDEA what is happening here? This is the 4th home I've owned (first one I had built myself though) and I've never experienced this problem anywhere else. HELP!

I'm on my way out to run errands today, so I problem won't be back to respond to any replies until later this evening, but if anyone has any suggestions, or has experienced this same problem, I'm eager to here from you, and about what you may have done to resolve it ...

    Thank you sooo much!!!

One additional comment ... I did try the shaking of the handle today and it did nothing. And btw, this was at noon ... well the handle is still turned to the on position and not a drop of water is coming out...

    :(

Could be that your hot water heater has some serious debris in it but, this should cause problems with all your faucets. I would get Atlas back and have them check ALL your plumbing. At worst, have them replace the shower control.

Thanks for your suggestion T8erman ... but all other faucets and shower heads are fine ... just this one in the master bdrm on the first floor... [V]

I'll get Atlas back out, but I'm going to insist that they dissect the shower assembly. The Atlas guy replaced the only part (per him) that could be the problem, and I doubt that that part has gone bad again - its just too soon - so its just got to be something else.

Incidentally, I just returned home and turned it on and yep, its now working again.

    *sigh*
