What is the Broadlands policy about vendors placing signs in the grass in front of a single family home (i.e. the "common" grass on the road-side of the sidewalk in front of my house that I mow)?

Since moving here just a few months ago we have a new sign every few weeks .... college painters, karate class, realtor sign for open house down the street, etc. It looks junky! Am I allowed to throw these away, or move them from in front of my house?

    Trash the advertisers.

As for realtors, I would give them a couple of days (weekend traffic mostly)

Political signs during an election period are allowed.

Do any of them say "long hair, creepy people need not apply"?

Actually ANY non-permitted sign in the VDOT right of way is against the code of VA. It does not matter whether it is a company, realtor, or political sign.

If you have questions, contact Keith Fairfax at the Loudoun Zoning enforcement office.

Myself a few other dozen people have been given authority to remove such signs. Post where they are and I can make them go away.

It might not be legal to post a realtor sign, but it helps to sell your neighbor's house. I hope no one pulls the signs out on you when you are trying to get top dollar for your house, james.

I personally do not have an issue with realtor signs if they are just posting for a few hours for an open house. A sign on a corner giving direction is not a huge deal. When the realtor thinks it is necessary to plaster an intersection with 4 signs, that gets obnoxious. The signs that are just a plain for sale sign in the middle of claiborne just becaome an advertisement like any other sign.

I must admit that I do give a break to the open house signs, garage sales, etc that will most likely only be up for a few hours. If they are still up monday morning, that is a different story.

I have family that are realtors, so I understand the concern, but even they question the effectiveness of the open house.
