    Hi,

I have some relatives from Florida coming to visit with young kids who are dying to see snow! I wouldn't call them skiers by ant means, I think they just want to run around in and sled a little bit I suppose.

I personally am very happy at the lack of snow here as I loathe it, so does anyone know where I can suggest they drive to realtively close by for a little fun in the snow?

    Thanks!

for fake snow they can head up 15 north into PA as there are a few small ski areas about 2 hrs away or less. for real stuff you are looking about 3 hrs west -- Davis WV or Deep Creek MD area

Wintergreen and Wisp are 2-2.5 hours away and have snow-tubing.

Thanks so much! They are very excited to go snow tubing. They may stay overnight so do you have a suggestion over which of these places is nicest?

    Thanks again!

Staying at the actual resorts themselves is much more $$$.

Havent been to Wisp. As for Wintergreen, rates are about $250 a night. We stayed in Waynesboro, about 15-20 minutes away, for $100 a night.

If you do end up going here, PM me later and I can give you some more specific details about "potential" issues with getting tickets.

If you are a fast driver you could be snow tubing at Liberty or Whitetail resort in about 70 minutes. Because you aren't going for a major ski trip I would definitely stick to these close places.
