that IS good news- thanks for sharing!

and considering how selflishly, recklessly and distractedly (continuity over grammar folks! lol) people drive around here- they could wait at the exit of ANY subdivision and pick off a non-signalling speeder yapping on their cell or texting...

hmm... i'm not confident that a LAW would be enough to stop someone foolish enough to even NEED to be told not to text and drive... :screwy:

now- testing while driving then rear ending a car at full speed and injuring or killing an innocent person who was unfortunate enough to be in front of the moron texting and driving? THAT may be a motivator not to do it...

jim - thanks for the follow-ups. VDOT is a wierd beast.. they seem to make progress in some areas... while others they continue to flounder. Like the Rt28/Waxpool area was a turd from the day it was reopened... and yet down on Rt50 they are getting smart with using roundabouts instead of a gazillion traffic lights. It seems like the oversight within the org must be wildly varying or non-existent.

I think now the cops sit in the middle lane at the waxpool/loudoun county parkway light waiting for people to run the red light turning left off waxpool onto loudoun county parkway. I do love it. I've now seen them at least 6 times pull people over who don't see that cop car sitting in the unused lane between the straight and turn lanes. A few weeks ago I had a good laugh with the lady in the car next to me as we watched a guy run the light by at least 4 seconds and the cop nailed him.

Of course around here I'm sure there is some excuse as to why what he was doing was actually correct and the cop was wrong.

Only for half of it - the signs are 45 mph from LCPkwy to a little over the constructions site (for Metro?), then the signs become 35 mph after the Regency entrance, I think.

    That makes sense right?

Residential communities start just after the 35MPH speed limit....

I believe the active construction is for new data centers going up next to the existing ones (the 3 non-descript buildings visible from the greenway). Then between that and Home Depot is where the Loudoun Station development is supposed to go, eventually.
