After dealing with the same small company for the past 7 years, they have unfortunately closed down their business, so I'm looking for a new repubtable company to buy from that has good prices and customer service.

I will buy from either local or Internet sites as long as they have a good track record.

Has anyone ever bought anything at the Computer Expo that are held in Chantilly? Its about $8 to get in the door, but I always wondered if they have good prices.

I use Pricewatch for checking the latest prices, but I'm looking for a good company/Internet store to work with.
    www.pricewatch.com

    I'm open to suggestions, thanks!

I buy most of my computer stuff and computers from Dell.com. There are lots of good deals on sites like Apex and FatWallet with coupon codes. Do some leg work on the internet. My advice is to find the deals where Dell gives you free shipping and no sales tax and rebates. If you're patient, you can find some great deals thru Dell. I've bought thousands of dollars in stuff from them and have been happy. Computers are CHEAP now. Far from what I paid over 10 years ago.

One thing I did forget to mention. I like to build my own PCs and put in specific manufacturer parts, so Dell, Gateway, etc. don't really offer alot of options for me, unless they will custome build it with specific parts that I want.

Oh, you didn't state that. Then check out http://forums.anandtech.com/ for good deals on components. Yeah putting together a computer is the best way. But for what I wanted I got an awesome deal. Came with software that cost more than what I paid for the computer.

Miss those days when I can buy an Amiga 3000 or NeXT computer.

Ive been going to pricewatch for about 4 years now and have yet to find a better deal on parts (w/the excpetion of Hard Drives at Best Buy or Circuit City). IN fact I just spec'd out a new Mobo/cpu (AMD 2600+), Ram (256 DDR2700), case, keyboard for about $230. I cant find any other place that I can go to and get all these competitive prices.
If you find one, let us know.....

Stay away from Pricewatch! I don't bother with any of those Mom and Pop fly by night dealers anymore. Myself and many friends online stick with Newegg (http://www.newegg.com). I've bought about 2 complete systems from them now over the last few years. Their service rocks.

Thanks for the info all, I'll check out Newegg too.

I was checking out www.provantage.com, they seem to have very competetive pricing and good shipping costs. I got the link from the Viewsonic website, as I'm in the market for 2 new LCD monitors.

Anyone ever tried Provantage?, I'm gonna buy a few items from them and see how it works out, will let you all know.

I just use pricewatch to check prices, I don't buy from the stores that advertise their prices there, as some of them seem very shady, but I like to know what parts are going for on the street, and nice to use for the occasional price match.
