Damaged cars, incompletely plowed streets, blocked traffic, angry neighbors. All of these things are caused by individuals parallel parking on narrow streets. Since only one side of the street is yellow curbed then the other side is a free-for-all. This has resulted in all the above issues. And people are resistant to moving due to the long walk to available parking.

If the non-yellow side of the street was designated as "No Parking" it would solve all of the above issues. Are the signs really expensive? We could designate spots for disabled drivers if that is the concern.

Narrow streets are a localized problem not necessarily community wide. Some areas are far worse than others.

Eliminating parking isn't going to make people better behaved, or more diligent to use their garages, etc.. they'll just dig in and cause new problems. Just look around other townhome areas and see how extreme people will go to park closer to their house vs where the intended parking is (like the townhomes along waxpool near shellhorn before the county changed the road).

More and more, people have to be forced to do the right thing. If appealing to their sense of being a good neighbor doesn't work, being ticketed or towed a few times sure will. In just the last week there has been a car backed into, another trapped in a space due to not enough room to get out, and today, I had to wait for the garbage truck to finish because there was not enough room to get around them.

I have noticed a few townhome streets that have yellow curbs on both sides, Autumnwood comes to mind. That would be great, but at least post no parking signs.
