Posting this on behalf of a concerned resident, since I'm generally hated anyhow. What are the chances this mailbox violates some sort of HOA guidelines (as well as good taste guidelines)? It's on Waxpool where it turns to gravel:

I couldn't agree more. If it were to be repainted in burgundy and gold it would look much nicer. :D

Aw, brim. No one hates you. They just find a majority of your posts to be unnecessary and unhelpful. (JK :)) Brim, you'll be happy to know I haven't been mugged in downtown Atlanta yet, but keep your fingers crossed, you never know!

I agree with you about the mailbox, shocking as that might sound. I have a hard time believing the HOA approved it, especially mounted on that wooden post.

BTW, I like the new "insert image" feature. At least I think it's new.

Good to hear from you, Pats. I hope you have better luck there than I did (got shook down by an panhandler w/ a scheme in a parking lot at an AC/DC concert at the Omni).

Edit: Just to clarify so I don't look like a rube who's easily taken by street schemes; I pulled in a parking lot and paid the attendant then a rather excited looking gentleman proceeded to direct me to an open space. He stood there as I exited the vehicle and got a good look at my stereo, etc...so when I got out he asked for some cash. I informed him I'd already paid the attendant to which he replied "Oh, I don't work here, I'm just helping them out!" which translates into "Give me some cash or I'll break your window and rob you blind." So, I had to cough up $10 to keep my windows intact.

    PATS!!!! COME HOME!!!! :(

Hey, the new guy had his first hot blonde on the deck last night! :D

And yes, this is an illegal mailbox as it does not conform to the standard design.

We miss you too, T8er's (man, girl and boy)! A couple more blonde sightings, though, and you'll quickly forget about us!

I wonder whether this mailbox would be drawing as much negative attention if it were painted in burgundy and gold, though...

It's really tasteless now if it were painted green and yellow (GO PAC!) then we are talking pure class....

Creative mailbox. I think that area is not part of broadlands community. That's a smaller community. They might not have as strict HOA guidelines as we do.

Is this area where you turn in to go to Eagle Ridge? If so I don't think it is part of Broadlands

Hmmmm I wonder what the privacy rules are for taking a picture of someones mailbox and home and truck and posting it on a open and public forum maybe nothing, but someone is going to hate you now possibly a war. Should this not be handled privately like knock on the door a letter from the HOA or something. God help you if these people want to get justice especially if they don't even live in the Broadlands.

I am glad I am not in your shoes. [B)]

OH well that was a wasted post although this could get interesting for the broadlands hoa.;)

You can take a picture of anything in public sight an post it anywhere so long as no personal information is involved. If there's a problem, the admins can take it down...

Lee, why do you think it's such a big deal? Why would taking a picture from a public street be an issue??

re: the satellite dish placement.... yeah, seems like the installer bright enough to make it not blatently apparent from the street.

    Brim,

AFAIK ... that area is NOT part of Broadlands. While there is some land on Waxpool (the same side as the big berm and the Animal Hospital) that is part of the development, the land on the other side (by the school) is not.

OK .. is the tacky part the fact its not in Redskins colors ?? [8D]
