Target near Weg's to become Target w/Market

So I went to Target the other day and see a sign that says "Open during construction." They're adding a market, I suppose to compete with the newly remodeled Walmart.
However, I wonder if this was planned all along. Is there empty space in that Target that you think was designated for this? Just wondering if this was the plan since there is only one entrance now and maybe they were planning on it for the future.
Should be interesting, although I hate to admit it, I kind of like the Walmart now.

 

They are doing it to all of them in our area. Will carry more fresh food selections and as the gal at the customer service desk told me, 70% of the dry goods of a Super Target. I am sort of bummed, I think it might cut down on the selection of the regular targets. If I want a grocery store..I'll go to Wegmans.
