Here's one that's been pulling my chain for a while, it's a small thing....

We bought 3 items at Petco the other day, and the receipt is 19, count 'em, 19 inches long! Thermal paper is expensive, gawd knows what chemicals are covering it, no wonder my small bag of cat food costs $40.......Please, think green, at least where you KNOW the paper will end up in the recycle bin....

To the driver of the Yellow Neon (with a fin on the tailgate) that drives Ridgeway/Claiborne multiple times a day....FIX YOUR F'ing MUFFLER.

Your car is not cool, it is a noise nuisance in the neighborhood.

Furthermore your car's muffler rattles my entire house and wakes up my 3 year old.

I hope LSCO pulls you over and fines the hell out of you.

You know, I hear you loud and clear on this and I agree with you on this. I even suggested to one neighbor that we should place speed bumps at the area where most people pick up speed on the way down the hill. Turns out that most people won't go for it. Its only a matter of time before some schmuck will T-Bone someone after going too fast.

Ridgeway Drive is not a safe street at all since too many people speed along the road like its a Formula 1 race. I sometimes try to get people to slow down and all I get is the finger at times. Im sure that if some kid or someone gets hit only then will that parent want to beat the crap out of the driver.

Seriously, what will it take for speeders to slow down in our neighborhood? Those "fine" signs really aren't great deterrents.

    Carry on!

My bane is Vestals Gap Motor Speedway. It's a shame that the technology is still too expensive and kludgey to have a nice amateur grade speed camera that automatically uploaded the pictures to the Internet. The problem is bad enough in front of my house and I'm tempted to be that guy on the side of the road with a hand held radar gun and camera...but I really don't want to be that guy.

I know exactly what you mean, we're walkers and my husband and I have often said that people really speed down Vestals and hardly even stop at the stop signs....we're lucky to get across the street...

AndyWalden/Tyger31 - Have you reported the issue to the LCSO non-emergency number? When they get enough calls from different people about an issue in a certain area, they send a car down to 'catch' the offenders. Not saying it will solve the problem, but it might put a dent in it. If nobody calls, then the LCSO has no idea there's an issue there and the problem will just continue until someone gets hurt...

    Just my 2 cents...

Coincidentally, our next door neighbors did. I didn't know it until they told me about it afterwards. They said a cop came out and sat for about 10 minutes and left.

Yep! The LCSO is VERY good about following up on calls like that, etc. And the more calls they get, the more often they will come by and hang around. Many folks on these forums will tell you the very same thing.

I agree...The cops were great when they swung by. Now, in fairfax county, because of the vastness of Fairfax County and few numbers of cops available, they tell you to call in for a report. They rarely send out an officer to your house nowadays. But in Loudoun, they will. Refreshing!

The spouse is watching a show of Jon Anderson (of Yes) and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland. It's turned up too loud and Jon Anderson sounds like a woman. There. I said it.

The orchestra is good, though. For some reason Anderson's voice is really bugging me.

Apparently laying on the horn and flashing the birghts will embarrass one enough to move your vehicle from the no stopping, standing or parking zone in front of Dominos and the Karate place.
