    You guess wrong.

People need to realize we don't live on islands and we shouldn't be trying to stick the cops on everyone for the littlest things.

Live and let live. If you want to not have to deal with the littlest thing from other people - don't live around other people.

*Sarcastically* I've said it before and I'll say it again....Its useless to talk to someone who does NOT understand and doesn't RESPECT the law. If the law says NO LOUD NOISES, blah blah blah between 11PM and 6AM, then that person should be intelligent enough to understand what it means! So if someone says that the noise bothers them at that time in the morning BEFORE 6...then that offending person is not being respectful to others.

If that person wants a LOUD vehicle, etc...then that person should go move out to the hills on the otherside of Shennandoah mountains so he/she can make all the noise he/she wants without waking up the rest of us CIVILIZED folks.

The world is not sterile... please stop trying to make it such.

The laws are written as catch-alls to give the government a means to empower the police to act when appropriate.

'when appropriate' are the key words.

People really shouldn't live in glass houses where they want the world to bend to them - because one day that kind of attitude will cause your neighbor to do the same to you.

Reasonable seems to be a lost concept.

Sorry buddy, but I disagree with you. Many folks moved here because they wanted a family oriented community. I still support lilpea and her rightful rant about how this idiotic driver is disturbing the peace.

Like I said, if you want to make LOTS of noise and bother people with that, then moving out to the hills is a good thing to do.

I'm done and if you want to go ahead and put your last 2 cents to this thread...go ahead but don't expect me to read it because Im not going to waste my time reading from someone that doesn't "get it."

    Later-

Wow, that's the same line you gave me a few weeks ago. When you don't like how a discussion is going, you stomp up and down and then start the old "I'm not listening anymore, I'm not listening anymore. Nadi-nadi-poo-poo."

These are DISCUSSION FORUMS. If you don't want to DISCUSS, don't post here. People are entitled to their opinions and not just YOURS.

I added to the discussion forum here because I believe that lilpea's complaints are valid here and some folks felt that lilpea was off the mark here when it came to very loud noises from cars/bikes at such an early hour in the AM. Keep in mind that many of us want to live in a civilized neighborhood where people were respectful of one another especially in the EARLY hours in the AM because little kids are sleeping at that time.

So if someone feels that they have a right to go ahead and disturbs neighbors with such loud vehicle muffler noises with items such as an aftermarket muffler that is guaranteed to wake up people that early in the AM or late in the P.M, its useless for me to keep commenting on the board to someone who obviously disagrees with what the Codified Ordinance by Loudoun County says. For your reference, I have re-posted it below.

    From Loudoun County's Codified Ordinance:

    654.02 UNREASONABLE NOISE.

    (b) Prohibition. No person shall make, continue, or cause or permit to be made or continued, any excessive, unnecessary or unusually loud or otherwise unreasonable noise, which annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of other persons in the County.

    (2) Operating, using or permitting the operation or use of a steam engine or combustion engine, including, but not limited to, motor vehicles, motor boats and tractors, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day, in such a manner as to disturb the peace, quiet, repose or comfort of neighboring inhabitants...

Hence, I'll say it again, I support lilpea's family in this because I have experienced this in the past long ago and it is REALLY annoying when you are trying to relax after 10 or so PM watching a good movie only to have to deal with ungrateful people who think nothing of being considerate of the peace and quiet people want after a late hour.

So waht do you want me to do? Keep reading and reading someone's comments who obviously doesn't agree with the ordinance or doesn't want to understand WHY another family is obviously upset over this? Telling them that they shouldn't have lived on that intersection and road near the main throughfare isn't the right approach here. Its like telling them to move their butts out of the neighborhood just because they didn't like the noise at that time. FYI, the codified ordinance said it shouldn't cause discomfort, disturb the peace, etc between 11PM and 6AM.... So what part doesn't the individual not understand about that part? Isn't that too hard to "get it"?

That's why I said I won't read any further if the individual doesn't understand that part in the ordinance and telling us to "put up with it". I don't want to argue ad nauseum with someone that doesn't understand the need for that ordinance. How would you like it if someone interrupted your needed sleep every day at an ungodly hour of 4 AM with a bone-rattling noise from the bike or car? Most people wouldn't like it... So what's the point of me keep pointing that out ad nauseum to someone else who judged lilpea unneccessarily? I support her and her family's need for sleep here. It's just unneccessary to keep driving a car where either the muffler's broken or has a very loud aftermarket muffler at that hour in the AM in the neighborhood. What's the point of having an aftermarket muffler anyway? Its manufactured primarily to annoy people, I'm led to believe.

So now you disparage people who live in Manassas and the south in general? Why would loud cars be more acceptable there then here? Are you trying to say that their environment is not civilized?

Boy, based on some of your posts, you just love to label people, intentionally or not.

I thought the purpose of this thread was to complain and do it freely without fear of backlash - obviously not the case!

Sorry---Had to reply to Mr. Linux's posting. I was trying to point out that I understood how the original poster (lilpea) felt about the whole noise crap that they've been on the receiving end for some time. I don't think they are getting a fair shake here. Its one thing to live behind a factory or truck depot but its another when you live in a neighborhood where some element of peace and quiet is to be expected at that early hour in the AM.

For example, I wouldn't be running my lawnmower at 6 AM in the morning or even after 9PM as I feel its rather rude to annoy my neighbors but I could if I wanted to but Im not that type of guy to pi$$ off my neighbors. Its just disrespectful, in my opinion, to continue to drive a car with a broken muffler (or aftermarket muffler that creates excess noise) in the neighborhood waking up people...

    That's my point here.

I am inclined to agree with you and thank you what many of us are thinking.:2thumbs:

I have to say that the original intent and purpose of the "unsaid" thread is clearly free game for a few select participants to add their own "commentary" and judgement.

Oh well...none the less it felt good to unload my "complaint" about this driver's loud muffler.

hahaha, sunny you're funny! Imagine the guy who got the kill shot...Nice piece of work! My nephew is a SEAL and they have tortured this boy, but they are as good as it gets! Hard work pays off!

My college roomate married a SEAL, he had the opportunity to get Sadam, many many years ago (Clinton, I think), but the brass told them not to smear the queer. Looking back, I'm sure they didn't want to make that mistake twice. This guy is retired and is now semi famous for teaching these young guys how to kill bad guys, some kind of crazy knife fighting....yikes! Freaks me out that my nephew will likely kill someone in this manner one day, but he's actually looking forward to it....even more yikes!

But I realize it's this type of man that is willing and able to protect us.

Kudos and as an Army Brat here, we all appreciate your nephew's service to this country...

Seals are one of the elitists forces to be ever trained to undertake such dangerous tasks. Many try to become Seals but they only take the best!

    Sunny...You said it best!!!!
