    Good morning,

What do Broadland-erians(?) do when they have to throw away large items? I have a mattress I have get rid of and I do not know where to take the thing. BTW - it is in no shape to give away or donate.

    Thanks,

    Mike

the trash company takes nearly anything.. including things like this.

I think you are supposed to call ahead and tell them about large items, but I've never had a problem just leaving it on the curb on the normal trash day

you need to call ahead if you want appliances picked up (ie dishwashers dryers etc.) as there is a fee for AAA to colect those items, but for things like mattresses just leave them at the curb on trash day and AAA will take it,

For other junk you can haul it to the LC dump, it's on Evergreen Mills east of Leesburg. You will have to pay but maybe not as much as AAA costs.

Actually, in our contract there is a max fee of, I believe, no more than $20 to haul away large metal items(washers, dryers, etc). Other stuff can be left at the curb on trash day, and that should be hauled off without a fee.

Appliances are $25 and you must call with a credit card number...and arrangements can be made to haul construction waste, countertops, old decks etc but it is VERY EXPENSIVE!! you're much better off going to the dump. I got rid of a truckload when I remodeled for $20.

Can have seom fun with your neighborhood...

Ashburn Farmers, Ashburn Farmians, Ashburn Farmites.

I kinda like Ashburn Farmer since it reflects the fact that all this land was someone's farm 30 years ago.
