    Hi,

I just called AAA and they told me that we are part of Broadlands home owners association and the trash removal is done by them. However, as instrcuted by Vanmetre, I requested for trash tote and recyle bin. They told me that they will charge $3/month for each.

Is this correct? Do we have to pay for this?

    Thanks

No AAA is not right. I did the same thing when i moved in. I was unsure how i was going to get my trashbin. AAA said $3 a month, and i thought it was already included in my HOA fee. Whatever u do don't sign up for it, they dont know what they are talking about. Anyhow when i moved in i got new bins. I think our homeowners association arranges for it automatically when you filled out your paperwork during the close of the sale. Hope this helps. You can always call the HOA as well.

Thank you. In that case, I'll probably wait till I close the house.

    Thanks again.

That is correct ... you do NOT have to pay for trash toters or recycle bins. You won't see the trash toter or recycle bin immediately after you close, but within the next few weeks.

For more info, contact the HOA office.

What if your trash bin is broke (wheels are bad on mine). How can you have it replaced?

I called AAA when my trash can was broken. They scheduled the delivery of a new one within a week or so. They took the broken one with them when they dropped off the new one.

We were told by the HOA that trashcans are only provided (by AAA) for single family homes and were not provided for townhouse owners. We called AAA about a trashcan and were told it was $3 per month.

    Best regards,

    Hi Signifer,

Did you end up paying for it or got your own cans?

I called Homeowners Association. They told me that recycle bins are free. However, townhome residents have to pay for toters ($3/month). She said that AAA toter will be too big to fit into the garage and suggested that I get a smaller one from home depot.

This is correct ... the person above was did not say he was in a townhome, so I assumed that he was in SFH.

    Baskar,

We haven't decided yet, but are leaning toward buying our own. As far as I know, the advantages of a AAA trashcan is it is bigger and AAA will replace a trashcan that is broken or has gotten really dirty and smelly.

    Best regards,

We went ahead and bought a toter.

A lady at the HOA was saying that if you have 2 cars and want to park both of them in the garage, keeping AAA toter inside the garage will be little difficult.
