U-Turns on Ridgeway in front of Mill Run

Just an FYI to all the many people that do a U-turn in front of Mill Run Elementary every morning at school drop-off. A deputy told me today that it is ILLEGAL to do a u-turn where there is not an intersection or a u-turn sign and that you will get a ticket for doing so.

So, please stop U-turning during drop off. It is creating an extremely dangerous situation for everyone (children/parents crossing the street, cars, and buses). The visibility is very poor here with people parking on both sides of the street, people parking in the "No Parking" zone, and people trying to swerve around people doing u-turns.

Please spread the word to your fellow Mill Run families so we can get the word out. Thanks!

 

Couldn't agree more! I have just recently witnessed this myself and couldn't believe what I was seeing! Cars are also pulling over in the most weird positions practically parallel with the curb to let their little ones out of the car, not realizing they are practically blocking half the street in doing so! I always find a cul de sac or continue on down to Claiborne if going to Mill Run for a parent event that is very crowded.
