Upcoming LCPS Events

    There are two upcoming events that may be of interest to the Hillside community.

    1. Kirk Martin of Celebrate Calm is returning to Loudoun County with his world-reknowned Courageous Parenting & Family Involvement Workshop:
    Replace Defiance & Disrespect with Motivated Kids. This free workshop will be held at the Loudoun County Public Schools Administration Building (21000 Education Court in Broadlands) from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, September 28th.

    Mr. Martin will show you how to:
    . Develop motivated, responsible children
    . Relieve anxiety, sensory issues and sibling fights
    . Improve focus, attention, and behavior in school
    . Eliminate defiance, disrespect, and power struggles
    . Create stress-free mornings, homework time and bedtime.

    2. The Virginia Autism Council is also returning to Loudoun County to once again offer their Learning, Living, and Working with Persons with Asperger's Syndrome training. This free workshop will be presented at the Loudoun County Public Schools Administration Building (21000 Education Court in Broadlands) from 8:30am - 3:30 pm on Saturday, September 17th.

    Learning, Living, and Working with Persons with Asperger's Syndrome is designed to introduce educators, parents and service providers to the characteristics of Asperger's Syndrome and effective strategies that can be used to support these individuals. It will be presented by Ginny Love, M.Ed. of Fairfax County Schools and Rosy McGuinness, M.Ed., CCC-SLP of Loudoun County Public Schools.

    Pre-registration is required but there is no fee. More information is available
    on the LCPS website.
