Does anyone know if there's a local store that sells used electronics? Specifically, I'm looking for a good-quality used CD player.

I'm hesitant to buy a new one, since it's a music-listening technology that is probably on its way out. However, the cd player on my stereo system just quit.

    Any recs.?

Any cheap DVD player will work as a CD player too... I might have an old one lying around too if I can dig.

I should have been more specific. I'm looking for a cd player that has the capacity to hold at least 5 discs. I like to put in a bunch of music before dinner or before guests arrive so that I don't need to think about it.

    Thanks for the offer though!

Sadly, you usually have to look online for used stuff. There's no used DVD/videogame stores here either. Might be a regional thing? Forgive the broad regional generalization, but when I worked in Ohio for 9 months, I did notice that there were tons of stores out there that specialized in used electronics, movies, videogames, etc. Maybe it's because it's generally a poorer area than here and more poorer people look to buy used goods more frequently? Not saying there's not poor people here, but there's definitely a ton of rich people. NOVA just might not be a place that can support such a business. Shame though, I'd definitely shop at one.

I know I gave my sony 5 cd carosaul away ages ago.. and gave away my 200 cd one ages ago too.

My suggestion? Do a mp3 jukebox and forget the CDs.

craigslist is your best bet (if not only bet).

I've bought and sold everything from couches to lawn mowers to stereo equipment.

You might try a pawn shop, there was one in Leesburg I visited recently and they had all kinds of electronics (cell phones, ipods, electric guitars, etc)

I am pretty sure I have one sitting in my basement collecting dust... a Panasonic 5-disc changer that works just fine.

I think a "trade" could be arranged... a decent six pack could work! Let me know if interested and I will verify tonight when I get home.
