There is an ignore poster feature.

Hey, how do you use the ignore poster feature?

How about returning these forums to their original purpose, which is:
"These forums are available for use by the residents of the Broadlands to ask questions about life in the Broadlands, such as homeowner questions about their house, questions about landscaping, questions about the pools, etc."

    And apply rule #8:
"8. Be kind! As stated above, we do not allow personal attacks. If you want to take up a personal issue with someone please do it offline. We realize some issues can get hot, but before posting take a deep breath and step away for a few minutes before coming back and posting. The moderators do not want to edit posts or suspend users but we will if we have to."

After applying rule #8, lock and/or delete this thread.

Lol Cliff. I have other forums. I don't really hang here anymore. You should also make sure the TC knows that call Wes is not the proper answer to complaints. I called him and he passed the buck back to the TC.

    Welcome back, Boomer!

    Homer-
If someone has a question, comment, criticism, or concern about the Forums, the first point of contact shold be with the Tech Committee. If they still aren't satisfied with the response, they can bring their concern to the HOA Board.
Every meeting gives residents a few minutes to speak of whatever's on their mind. If they think an issue may require more in depth discussion, contact Wes about putting the topic on the agenda.
Wes has enough to do without being involved in the Forums.

Cliff: Read the first post in this thread. Then reread my last post.

    Yes, here's what it says:

"Yes, Brim was removed from posting to the forums visible to all at the boards request. If you have questions or comments with this action you can take it up with the HOA board at:

Broadlands Association, Inc., 21907 Claiborne Parkway, Broadlands, VA 20148
    703-729-9704; Fax 703-729-9733

Wesley Schroeder, General Manager, (703) 729-9711
Maureen Burns, Asst Property Manager, (703) 729-9714

The Homeowners Association (HOA) office, located within the Nature Center, is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm."

Notice we say to contact the HOA BOARD. We then proceed to give the address and the phone number where you can get in touch with folks who can pass your issue on to the Board. If that doesn't work, or if for some reason folks can't get through, we supplied the other points of contact.

Did we tell people to go directly to Wes? I don't see that here. But of course, once again, it's the TC's fault that you or someone else chose to call Wes directly. How dare we make it easy for our users to complain!

For a guy who "doesn't really hang here", according to the site's "Who's Online" feature, you sure drop by a lot ;)

In October, you posted 12 times in 9 days, and in September you posted 22 times in 30 days. You're right, you really don't hang around here as much as you used to... :D

To the lay person yes, why put Wes' phone number there at all, then? Wes is the president of the HOA and a board member. How are the unwashed massess supposed to know they just defer to the homeowner board? Some HOAs don't operate that way.

And what about June/July/August. October is only b/c of this incident.

    Since you asked:

8 posts in August, 17 in July and 32 in June. Your current trend is about 1 post every other day. I could also give you a login count, or how many times you hit the site, but I have real work to do tonight.

For forums run by a a so-called inept bunch of folks on the TC, you sure seem to love the place...

Is it necessary for the admins to get in a pi**ing match with a homeowner?

You not only flamed the admins (comparing us to the USSR even) but blatently ignored three warnings so you got set to be suspended right then. (I didn't have the access at the time to do it and had to email one of the admins, thus you were able to continue your posts.) But on further reflection after taking a step back, I'm fed up with all of this to be honest. I'll be at the board meeting on Tuesday if you care to discuss it, or you can always PM me.

Is it necessary for a homeowner to get in a pi**ing match with an admin? (I'm referencing Homer, not you Softballchick...)

Homer made a statement that he rarely comes here anymore; he takes pride in proving us wrong, so I decided to return the favor.

Here we go again... More wrong facts...

Wes is NOT the president of the HOA. Wes Schroeder is the General Manager of the HOA and reports directly to the HOA Board of Directors. He is NOT A BOARD MEMBER. While he is present at all Board meetings, he DOES NOTE VOTE on any resolutions.

Once again, stop spreading FUD and get your facts straight...

Please feel free to read up on whom the folks that manage your community are:

I was getting ready to correct Homer, then I saw Mr. Linux post, correcting him.

Absolutely correct ... Wes is the General Manager, an employee of the HOA. He runs the HOA's day to day operations, under the HOA Board's oversight. As was mentioned, he has no position on the Board, he does not have a vote at Board meetings.

    Homer-
Wes is NOT a Board member, and I am the President of the HOA. I guess you haven't noticed all my posts are signed that way????
Wes is our piad General Manager and he is the point of contact for residents if they need to address the Board. He can advise people of when the meetings are and can put an issue on our agenda.

You overreacted and couldn't take any criticism. I likened the censorship to a communist society, which is what they do to stop any bad PR from getting out. I think it was a bad decision to kick brim out without warning and I was posting my $0.02.
    • I try to post in defense of brim.
    • You deleted my posts repeatedly, later justifying your actions with non-existant rules
    • You told me not to say brim's name again
    • You then created a rule saying not to speak on the forums about such actions.
    • You banned me for 3 days.
    • You then posted this thread to specifically discuss Brim.

You will not compare the admins to communists - period. Thats an attack against the admins, we're all volunteers that maintain these forums on our own time and we will definately not take crap like that. Personal attacks are not allowed, that includes those tho maintain these forums. If you don't like any of our rules you can approach it rationally. Flaming us is not the thing to do. I never once told you that you couldn't say Brims name, thats rediculous. If you think I did feel free to show up tonight, I have every single word of our conversation ready to show the board (which they already have) if it needs to be reviewed.

You did nothing to even rationally approach a conversation about Brim, instead you came flat out and bashed the admins and our rules without zero considerations for your actions. And you got suspended. Do it again and I'll suspend you again. If you don't like it - read the prior posts to see what you can do about it. I'll be at tonights board meeting. Will you?
