Dark colored SUV side swiped a car parked on Chickacoan just before the intersection with Vestals Gap. The SUV was headed across Vestals on Chickacoan toward Truro Perish.

We live on Vestals and heard the hit. Then the owner at the home yelling at the driver when he pulled away. I only caught a glimpse of the vehicle, which appeared to possibly have been a late model Ford Explorer, possibly the 2013 body style but can't say for certain. It will have damage on the passenger side from hitting a dark silver sedan.

Perhaps Clydes has security footage of vehicles coming and going in the 9:00-9:15 timeframe, if the driver was a customer that did not want to deal with a DUI.

Please be on the look out for passenger side damage on a dark colored SUV. If the owner of the home has more details please post for us. Hopefully the owner got a plate #. The police were at the scene within minutes.

As the owner of the vehicle that was hit, I appreciate you getting the word out so soon after the car was hit. I was not there at the time, but a neighbor saw the SUV hit our car and then speed away. He tried to get them to stop, but they kept going. Unfortunately, no one was able to get a plate number. Based on some of the debris in the road, we believe the SUV that hit us may have been a Range Rover.

Today we learned that our car was a total loss…..what does that say about how fast this person must have been going on our neighborhood residential streets?

If anyone else has information about the accident, please contact us.

    Thanks.

On this same realm, I was nearly hit today on Ellzey off Chickacoan by someone driving down the middle of the road, and speeding, not far from Hillside Elementary. SLOW DOWN and stick to your side of the road.
