Does anyone have an experience or advice on selecting a software application to do home video editing. Pretty basic stuff, cutting out good stuff, putting it together with music, maybe some quality adjustments, etc. Eventually it would be burned to CD or DVD. Also would like to cut in still photos as part of the movie.

I am also looking for something with a small learning curve. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

p.s. I also have a bunch of old videos that I'd like to import and edit within the software.

    what OS?

Windows movie maker is pretty easy on XP and Vista. Windows 7 doesn't have any native software yet.

On the mac IMovie is pretty darn good for simple stuff.

I use the CyberLink Power series (Director, producer, etc.). It's amazingly simple to use and will do everything you want. You can buy it on line & download it immediatly.
