I just want a big MicroCenter or Fry's. There are so many geeks in this area, I'm amazed that nobody is even attempting to open up this type of business in our area...

Just think... all this flex commercial space, etc... should be perfect, but I guess the rent/etc is still too high and margins too low when you have to compete with online. But yeah, dunno why Microcenter doesn't expand west.

Fry's apparently is happy where they are :(

I would shop at either of those. Sure, online offers a great variety of items for good prices but so do those places and you don't have to pay shipping.

I think the Greenway would qualify!

Yea, but by the time people exit off the Greenway, they don't have any money left to spend on food!!! :pofl:

I didn't read through all of these, so I don't know if it's been suggested.
We need a kids play place around here. In Columbia, MD there's a place called Playwise Kids http://www.playwisekids.com/drop_in.htm
With all of the kids around here, I would LOVE to have a place like this where you could go anytime to play.
It's in a warehouse with tons of different activities for kids to do. There's an old firetruck and ambulance inside, play houses, arts and crafts set ups, everything. And of course there are birthday parties hosted there.
I would do it but I'm terrified of being sued by crazy parents should a kid get hurt  I'm a risk taker, but moms and dads frighten me!!!!

I agree! The moonbounce places are good but something with more of a variety of activities would be nice. For years I've been hoping that downtown Leesburg would take a hint from Winchester and open a children's museum. If activity is what they want in downtown Leesburg, it seems to me a good children's museum like the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum would bring a fair amount of business there.

What "great" places in Leesburg? Except for places like Target, Costco, the teachers store, Mom's Apple Pie, and the auto parts store I don't go to Leesburg for anything. I just don't get the draw for downtown Leesburg. It isn't as nice as Georgetown or old town Alexandria or as pedestrian friendly as Winchester.

Heh. Sorry about that. What I really meant was *downtown* Leesburg.

Wine Kitchen, Rouge Spa, Shoes Cup and Cork Cafe, Fireworks Pizza, the Dog Park, all the little shops, Tally Ho Theater, Cajun Experience, Tenderjacks, Leesburg Restaurant... no it's no Old Towne Alexandria but that's 45 minutes away- THIS is what our backyard has to offer so I explore and enjoy it.

Reston Town Center is nice too but it's trendy, not quaint. suppose it depends on what you are in the mood for. what's the draw for Ashburn?

One thing that is missing in Ashburn is a place with a good beer selection. Vintage 51 in South Riding has great choices, Fireworks and Tuskies in Leesburg have great selections. Something that caters more to the craft beer palate and not the Am-Busch/Miller palate.
