    Hello!

My daughter recently needed to switch formula right after I had stocked up on what she had been using. On top of that, I had signed up for different mailing lists and have received multiple cans of powder formula. Safeway does not take returns and we're running out of places to put it. I don't want to see it go to waste so I'd like to find a place that could really use it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Karen

One of the Daycare centers in the area might be able to either use it or pass it on to the famlies there. Open Arms daycare is a possiblity.

If you don't mind the drive, the Alternative House, 2100 Gallows Road in Vienna, VA, http://www.thealternativehouse.org/ will take formula. They will also take diapers in open bags that don't fit your child anymore.

New household items are also welcome and can be used as raffle items at parenting groups. Gift certificates to local grocery or discount stores are also appreciated. Drop off donations at the MotherNet/Healthy Families Loudoun office in Sterling on Thursdays 5:30-7:30PM. For more information, contact Daiana BaƱales-Dorman at (703) 444-4477 (x212).

I had about 80 cans of formula to give away. Checked with many people and no one knew whom I can donate them to.

I ended up posting in craigslist and within hours, they were gone.
