Any suggestions for where to have a 3 year old boy's birthday party in a few weeks? We ended up having it at the Dinosaur Park last year (long story how that happened), and that was really great because the weather was good, but we don't want to chance the weather this year. I've looked into Sport Bounce, Little Gym, Claude Moore rec center, and JW Tumbles, but I was wondering if anyone had other suggestions. Also, I'd love to hear people's experiences with the places I've already looked into. Thanks!

The kids always have a good time at the Little Gym parties. You might try the fire station - but in that case you'll have to come up with your own entertainment.

For a 3yr old, Little Gym I think is by far the best. They will all have a blast.

Curiosity zone is also an option.

We had our daughters 3rd birthday party at Sport Bounce. The party was broken out into 3 parts. The first 15 minutes they had all the kids go into the toy room to play and then they blow up a big inflatable chair and take a picture of all the kids. Then its 45 minutes on all the moon bounces and then another 30-45 minutes in a party area for pizza and cake. It was pretty pricey but I think it was worth it. The kids had a great time and I think the moms and dads did too! Good luck with your search.

You also could try the Noodle Doodle art studio near IHOP if a crafty type party would be appropriate. We've had two parties there.

Three kids and the best party we have ever had was at Oogles and Googles.

In Chantilly near the autopark, but well worth the drive!

My daughter will be 3 in July and she just went to a 3yo party at Sport Bounce. She had lots of fun, but avoided the obstacle course and focused on the bounce house. My older daughter went to JW Tumbles right when she turned 3 (for a 3yo party) and I thought it was one of the best ones for that age. Firehouse for mainly boys, Little Gym, and maybe look into Jumpin Jack Sports since they have non-bouncy stuff. Personally I think Curiosity Zone and Noodle Doodle are more geared for the non-boy, 4+ set.

I would agree that JW Tumbles is pretty good - better than Little Gym for that age, IMHO. The Audobon Society also does parties at the Broadlands Nature Center. More info about their parties (they will do the amphibians or bird themes here) :

My boys always love the curiozity zone parties but I think it is better for 4 and older.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've taken him to the preschool storytime over at Curiosity Zone a few times, but I think he'd have more fun at a party there in a year or two. My husband would love it, though, because his undergrad and grad degrees are in Biology.

I think we're going to do a swim party at Claude Moore. They provide food and cake, and you get more time for the price (2 hours in the pool, then 90 minutes in a party room). Of course, 3 year olds don't really need a long party, so we'll see how that goes. But, he has a birthday every year, so I'll be looking for a party venue every year :)
