Not yet, it's been very constant for me so far. I was downloading Redhat9 last night, nothing to report really. Steady speeds.

Just ran a speed test, by download almost maxed out the cap, but the upload was low (70k). Should have been ~256. I'll give Khalil a call later and see if they are working on anything over there.

I got mine installed today. I finally had some time to work with them. I got a 768/384 but via ftp and bandwidth testers Im only getting 768/200. I also get "hesitations" in tcp connections in both gaming and ftp'ing. The weather is good so Im not sure what is wrong. One of my biggest "wants" w/the wireless was good upload speeds. Hope it will clear up. You guys still having some glitches?

BTW, WET11 had to be swapped out for different equip. to get it to work correctly.

That's odd that your uploads are a little slow, mine are good. I asked VeroLAN if they had done anything to the connection, they said that they have been working on the temporary wireless backbone (doing a reroute) until the real backbone is installed at the tower. Whatever they did fixed my problem, it's fast. I get a few hicups now but not many. FTPs are solid both ways.

Here is a ping test this morning:

    C:\>ping -t www.dslreports.com
    Ping statistics for 209.123.109.175:
    Packets: Sent = 87, Received = 86, Lost = 1 (1% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 22ms, Maximum = 386ms, Average = 30ms

Speed tests, I'm ~90% for both up and down of the line, sometimes busts over depending where I'm ftping to. Gaming was fine yesterday, no complaints. I'll try a few other games (was on Planetside).

I'm using my WET11 with newest firmware. The antenna is mounted inside my attic pointed at the tower, I get 80-87% signals. Do you have a wireless AP in your house? I was having problems with mine and VeroLans service, switched channels on my AP and its working great now.

Its working perfectly now! No packet loss, 20ms to Tier 2 provider, and im getting my full bandwidth. It was set up for the 512/256 on the original equip. thats what was holding me up. Wow, this is better than I thought and works great. Bye bye Asmelphia!
Here is my 768/386 and it cooks.

Actually, I may upgrade to the 1024/512 now....:), love the upload speeds.

Hi, I'm new to this forum.

I attended the Verolan demo and after a few days of mulling it over I decided to give them a try. Install went without a hitch and download speeds were close to what I paid for. A couple hours later it was quite a shock when my speeds dropped to a pathetic level (I was able to measure once with McAfee's site and got a 9kbps). After some research I discovered that packets were being dropped like crazy on the first hop out. I worked with Khalil on Thursday and we couldn't figure it out. He thought it must be the equipment (I also have the Linksys bridge). Now a couple days later I'm back to good performance but nothing's changed on the equipment (unless Khalil remotely reconfigured the bridge or downloaded latest firmware). So maybe the problem was really the link from the tower out to the backbone?

Anyway, if all continues to go well I'll be saying Adios to Adelphia this month for sure. BTW, no complaints with the switch to Dish Network either. [8D]

I expect it may continue to be working well. Ive had rock solid performance again all day, and w/the new T1 going in at the tower, we should get <10ms to a tier 2 provider, not that <20ms isn't good, but this will be better....:)
Ill give it a week, after that Ill cancel adelphia.....YES!

I've had a fantastic week with VeroLan also. Speeds and pings have been consistant all week even in evenings. Go my new webserver up and running and the upload just rocks. I was on last night playing Planetside during the storms before they got bad. Link didn't even drop a single bit.

on the 1024/512 plan things are just cooking. Khalil rerouted some of his point to point links to solve the problems. The Point to Point from ashburn to chantilly had a lot of interference.

Ever since he made that change I have has rock solid reliability.

I also have good news to report about Verolan's service! Ever since I upgraded to the Proxim bridge I've had very good and consistent performance, even with lightening strikes and driving rain right over my house.

I've heard that Verizon might be stalling on routing that T1 up to the tower because they want to get into the wireless business themselves [:0]. I hope they do the right thing and respond to their customers' needs...

Any of you all getting packet loss today (Saturday)? I'm getting about a 15% loss, been this way twice today when I was on.

ive been having problems all week. saturday i was getting 20-25% packet loss, unuseable. today im still around 7%. ive talked to khalil and it seems im the only one w/the problem right now. i know i was down almost all day friday too, he was supposed to be doing something at the tower, but it has actually made things worse on this end. i also can not dowload files because the connection will drop as soon as i put a load on it, but surfing is normally good. call him and let him know that you are having problems as well.

Signed up for Verolan's 768/256 plan and got installed last week (with the Proxim bridge). So far, I'm having my biggest problem with bandwidth. Initially was only getting 125kbps download speeds, so they came back out and replaced the antenna which improved the speeds to about 325kbps, or about half of what I expected (and am paying for). Right now the R/T ping times are averaging 33ms with 8% packet loss. Is everyone else getting close to their full bandwidth?

When did you talk to Khalil? He emailed me Saturday night saying he had 'in general no reports of any problems' and mentioned I might need a higher gain antenna. I doubt I do, it worked perfectly before Saturday. As for bandwidth, I'm getting very close to my max (512/256 plan, I'm getting 490/240ish). Packet loss was better on Sunday but was still there, about 7% also. They should have this fixed soon, it worked great before Saturday. I'm getting 80-85% signal strength with 42-50% signal quality.

Spoke with him on the phone Saturday morning. He didn't mention what my new signal strength or quality was but did say the new antenna had a 19db gain.

Ive talked to him last Tuesday, Thursday, late saturday (around 7pm) and via email on Sunday. I have been emailing him status on connectivity and packet loss. He told me Thursday he was going to climb the tower and reposition an antennae, I suspect this change may be what is causing us our heartburn right now. It seems we are all getting packet loss and download/upload problems (bandwidth). He emailed me on sunday that he is looking for someone in Basil court to act as a "repeater" since that is a good position for all of the broadlands. He is looking to have this done prior to the end of the month and that this should clear up the problems. I dont know what is going on except prior to Monday, my connectivity was fine. No packet loss, correct bandwidth.....Then on monday he had an amp go down and since then I can not put any kind of download strain on my connection or else the connection drops. Then Friday, I was down most of the day (suspect that is when he was working on the antennae), then when it restored I was getting 20-25% packet loss, ugh. Im waiting him out a couple more days and then I may have to make some decisions. I cant be down or have hampered service for this long, but prior to that it was great! I was actually getting better than the 1024/512 service. In fact my d/l speed was around 1.15 meg/sec via ftp. We'll see what happens.......

I am in the same boat. It was working great. Then the amp died. Now my connection sucks. Any strain and it dies. Also Khalil pulled my plug the other day saying that I was flooding his network. After extensive analysis on my part, it is not me, it is his network. 600k enters my network interface, 5k leaves my network interface and somehow I am generating 10megs of traffic on the accesspoint?! So anyway, I just got off the phone with him and he said he was going to look into it.

I will let you guys know. But at this point I am wishing DSL had finally made it to the Broadlands. :-(

    Depressed, Steven.

A lot of times when switches start to go bad, they begin to "broadcast storm" out the default interface. In this case, towards verolan. Usually you can do 1 of 2 things to fix it. 1) power cycle the switch, in this case the linksys router or bridge or 2) replace the faulty equipment. Ive dealt w/these problems a million times. Did you happen to power cycle any of the equipment for Verolan? If not, then that may be what is causing the problems.
Also as an FYI to everyone, the Linksys routers tend to have some, if not all, of the switch ports go bad anywhere from 13 months to 24 months of age (just after the warranty expires), this is a common reported problem on the internet. I had this happen to me a couple weeks back and replaced it w/ a D-Link which is warranteed for 3 years...:) . The verolan linksys also went bad on us.

    Later, and G/L Steven

Yeah, I power cycled everything at my place. No luck.

Anyway. Anyone in the Marsh Creek area want to split an Atlantech T1 3 or so ways? If so I would be interested. $499 / 5 people = same price as VeroLan but we get a full T.

    Later.

Last night (even with the rain) things were back to normal for me. No packet loss and speeds were maxxed out again. It was interesting to see that with all the rain, which took out my Dish network, only dropped the overall signal strength about 4%.
