Here's yet another opening where I work:

    PEACE X PEACE

    COMMUNICATIONS & DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

PEACE X PEACE is a three-year old 501(c)(3) US-based organization with programs that empower women in the United States and outside the United States to build the components of peace. We raise awareness of, and promote support for, feminine, circular principles in all social structures. PEACE X PEACE has a fast-paced working environment where we all offer support, work as a team and encourage initiative, drive and talent. This person must be comfortable doing their own "grunt" work, as well as serving as a leader for the communications and development of the organization.

The position requires an energetic, impassioned self-starter who will make the PXP vision and goals meaningful and relevant to target "publics," including donors, nationally and internationally. The position has two areas of responsibility: 1) public and media relations and 2) donor development among individuals, foundations and corporations. For the right person, this is an opportunity not only to expand and strengthen the organization, but to enhance the position as well.

The Communications and Development Director position is a full-time position to be filled immediately. Initial contract is for a one-year minimum, preceded by a three-month probation period. The person in the position reports directly to the Executive Program Director.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Implement and evolve current communications strategy

    · Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of all media

    · Manage promotional materials, packaging and products (including website)

    · Keep PXP activities, events, and accomplishments in front of national and international public through comprehensive program of press releases, e-bulletins, Annual Reports, etc.

    · Market PXP activities, services and programs to the public, including, potentially, speaking engagements, interviews, and conferences

    · Implement and evolve established funding strategy

    · Identify and manage foundation opportunities, including all writing processes and grant proposals, and developing relationships with foundation points of contact

    · Recruit underwriters

    · Identify and liaise with potential individual donors in addition to key contacts in foundations and corporations

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    · Three or more years managing PR/Marketing and/or Fundraising campaign(s), preferably in major markets

    · MA (or comparable working experience) in Public Relations, Fundraising, Grant Writing, Marketing, and/or Media Relations

    · Superior verbal and written communications skills

    · International experience and/or experience marketing to diverse populations

    · Proven ability to increase client's profile to the public (provided examples)

    · Proven ability to write effective grants and to raise funds (provide examples)

    · Current rolodex of contacts

    · Proven editorial, managerial, and interpersonal skills to serve effectively as a relationship manager -- both with internal (staff and volunteers) and external groups

    · Self-motivated team player, flexible and collaborative

    · Works effectively, efficiently and pleasantly under pressure, within tight deadlines, and can prioritize and multitask

    · Advanced IT skills, including, but not limited to MSOffice, Excel and Power Point; comfort with new technologies and databases

    · Advanced skills in website capabilities, and management

    · Ability to travel (domestic and international)

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

    · Foreign language skills

    · Professional experience related to women's issues and/or peace building

    OPPORTUNITIES:

This position put the person in the center of a dynamic young organization that joins women for peace around the world. The Communications and Development Director would have a voice in helping to shape this significant international venture.

    SALARY:

    Based on experience.

    APPLICATION PROCESS:

Send cover letter, resume, and three examples of press releases and/or grant submissions to Katherine@peacexpeace.org with subject heading Communications Director. No telephone calls, please.
