There’s A Lot Going On in the Neighborhood!
There will be an events committee meeting on Tuesday, July 22nd at the Community Center, 43004 Waxpool Road, at 7:30pm. If you are part of the committee, please plan on being there. Caring Hands Support & Education (CHASE) is teaming up with Woofie’s Mobile Pet Spa to raise funds for the non-profit organizations ongoing efforts to educate surrounding communities about animal welfare, as well as providing medical care for pets in need. 100% of the proceeds go to CHASE. Bring a picnic dinner – or pick up something from one of the great local restaurants – and stake out your spot on the lawn. Coolers, lawn chairs, and picnic blankets are welcome. Free popcorn and drinks are provided. This is a popular event, so come early for a good seat!
Movies will begin shortly after sundown – as soon as it’s dark around 8:40 pm. Reservations not required. In the event of inclement weather, check the website to see if this event is cancelled or rescheduled.
Due to the weather, there has been a change in venues for tonight’s Broadlands Live! concert. The show will now be held at the Community Center at 43004 Waxpool Road, located across from Hillside Park.
The show will still go on featuring 2 acoustic acts, Diggity Dudes starting at 5:30pm and Melodime at 7:00pm. We’ll have food vendors available for your convenience. BYOB…remember to bring your ID for age verification.
Wildlife Ambassadors will be giving an educating program on how animals survive, raise their young and live in their unique habitats. Animals will include birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Asphalt milling and repaving at the intersection of Mooreview Parkway and Demott Drive, in front of Harris Teeter, will occur from Sunday, June 1 through, Sunday, June 15.
We’re celebrating our 10th year of fun family entertainment! Join your neighbors for movies outside under the stars. A FREE event for Broadlands residents and their guests. We’ll kick off the summer season with Monsters University on Saturday, June 14 at 8:45pm on the Nature Center lawn. Grab a picnic blanket, round up the kids, and join us for a great movie – popcorn and drinks are provided.
