On our way back home today from our PA Farmers Cooperatives meeting, we stopped at Costco in Sterling. The gas price for unleaded is now $2.50/per gallon. Boy, did we luck out--filling up our Ford Excursion SUV!

Just thought you would like to know!

Off topic--about the produce and apples--I will post an update on the "Got Apples..." thread within a week or so. We haven't forgotten "y'all"! :shakehead:
Just been busy travelling alot lately--

Have a good weekend and week--

The 7-11 across from Costco Sterling is also $2.50 for those of you who rather pay with cc or don't have a Costco membership. So if your errands take you to Sterling - pls fill up over there. On average all stations are about 50 cents cheaper than in Ashburn. We saved at least $10 today filling up our SUV. Maybe if we all fill up over there, the Ashburn gas stations will get the message.....

Do you guys actually believe the falling gas prices is a sign of good times to come?? Its called "deflation", eventual slowing of the economy due to less consumption, yes, even gas, causing prices to drop due to less demand. Eventually, you'll see production of consumer goods decrease and more job loss, yipee right? Just as long the soccer moms can fill up that Chevy Suburban with cheaper gas.

Just off of Rt. 15 south of Rt. 50 on Saturday gas was $2.19 at the 7-11 before Braddock Rd. while up in Ashburn it was still around $2.55-$2.60. It is interesting watching how some stations lag behind by a few days in dropping their prices (most notably the Exxon on LCP by the Greenway yesterday was .09 higher than the Exxon 2 miles way at Ryan Park). We are driving to Atlanta over Tgiving break which is about 100 gallons of gas (with the driving we do when we are there to go places). The price drops from August until now will save us about $175 or more.

That same gas station off of Rt. 15 now appears to be down to $2.09 and in Gainesville and Haymarket it's selling for $1.99!!!! I can't remember the last time gas was below $2, must be at least a few years.
