2 SysAdmin positions Open

    I have two positions open for mid-level sysadmins. I'd prefer Solaris skills, but wil look at any resume. Send resume in Word format to rbates@servervault.com. I am looking ot hite immediatly upon completion of our background check (Clearance is NOT required, but you do have to pass a BI).

    Job Title: System Administrator

    Reports to: VP of Operations

    Hours: Sunday Thursday, 1200 - 2100
    Tuesday - Saturday 2100 - 0600

These solutions are managed and protected within ServerVault’s primary SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) compliant facility in Dulles, VA and a secondary facility in Tampa, FL. These solutions are provided to leading companies in financial services, healthcare, aerospace and defense, government, and technology industries.

    Job Overview:

    The core function of the position centers on systems administration. The person we hire will be committed to the success of ServerVault through the success of our clients. This individual will be a part of a 24x7 team that has eliminated the traditional three tier service model. Our clients expect that when they call, they get someone who can solve their problems without being “escalated”. In addition to monitoring and administering existing servers, administrators may be expected to provision new servers.


    Job Description:

    • Monitor customer and internal servers for potential problems through an in-house tool that integrates SNMP and “log surfing” utilities into a cohesive interface.
    • Monitor RT system for new tickets. Resolve or route tickets to the appropriate administrators.
    • Answer telephones from authorized technical contacts – authenticate customer requests and act on them.
    • Communicate with the customer the status of their tickets, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
    • Monitor network systems for problems and act on them promptly.
    • Pro-actively monitor sources for security news, activity & threats.
    • Assist the security team in the monitoring of abuse & attack situations, and help prevent unlawful intrusion into sensitive systems.
    • Work to solve customer issues within confines of ServerVault policy & security posture.
    • Assist new clients with the integration of their solution into the ServerVault environment.
    • Advise Engineering of customer needs and assist in the development of new solutions.
    • Work on special projects as assigned.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • College courses and technical certifications are not required but highly desired.

    Requirements:

    § 3-5 years technical support experience with demonstrated customer service skills
    § Strong written and verbal skills
    § In depth knowledge in at least one of the following:
    o Windows Server
    o RedHat Linux
    o Solaris
    § Working knowledge of enterprise applications such as MS-SQL, Exchange, Sun One, IIS & Apache web servers
    § Basic understanding of networks and network security
    § Basic understanding of information security
    § High attention to detail and exceptional troubleshooting skills
    § The ability to work both with a team and individually
    § The ability to handle tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions, and work efficiently
    § Must be able to work during all types of inclement weather and work days outside of their normal hours as the situation dictates.
    § Be available for on call emergency coverage.
    § Able to work on U.S. Government classified contracts.
    § Employee is required to view equipment and written materials in an environment with minimal light.
    § Employee must respond to a wide variety of sounds in order to determine equipment malfunctions.
    § Employee must be able to lift 40 lbs from floor to waist height.
    • Employee must be able to easily navigate in confined spaces around sensitive equipment and must be able to reach at least 7 feet with aid of a step stool.
