Even if not, at that point you are next to HomeDepot which always has it and likely cheaper.

I doubt they really care if they're losing customers. I mean, if you treat somebody like crap because that's all you know how to do, can you really regret that that person will never come back? There are always more customers there, so I'm sure my (and others') personal boycott isn't going to faze them at all. Personally, my reason for not going back is simple: with so many alternatives around, why subject myself to being treated like crap by a business that doesn't even care if I'm there?

not a boycott- simply using other options. if enough ppl do it, and they see a drop in traffic, it CAN make a diff.

I exchanged my propane tank at Harris Teeter this weekend. Quick and easy. In fact, a helpful employee came out to the propane cage with me and did all the work. To include loading it in my truck.

One other note, I've used Home Depot in the past for propane exchanges, and it's always a hassle to get someone to help you. I think I'll use Harris Teeter again next time.

that's what i mean- using the BEST place to get the level of service you want and deserve- not a boycott- simply going elsewhere b/c elsewhere IS better, TREATS you better, BETTER prices... whatever. :)

anyone know where to get a tank filled (not exchanged, but actually filled)? we have a weber charcoal grill that has a mini propane tank that you use to ignite the fire.

    thanks!

You can get a tank filled at Rentals Unlimited.

Do you know if they charge by volume or just per tank? I know it's seems like an idiotic question however I used to own a half-size propane tank and found that not only is it getting harder to find places which refill but of those places many no longer charge by volume but yet a fixed price per fill. The prices were reasonable for an empty regular size tank, but obviously a bad price for smaller tanks.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that question. All I know is that one of my brother's goes there to fill up his tank because it's cheaper than doing an exchange. Sorry I couldn't help!

The nursery on Rte 7 just across from Ashbrook (I forget what it's called) also does it. I forget how they price it because it's been a few years since I've gone there.

I thought it was based on the size of the tank last time I went.
