I just got an angry call from my old boss at the other company. I just wanted to say that although we work hard, and I feel we do a great job, I honestly think that they usually do a good job too. I don't believe them to be unprofessional. Also, I think that the term "absentee owner" was a bit of an exageration and would like to extract that.

We used to be really good friends, and he gave me a really hard time this spring when he learned of my company, but I don't ever want to misrepresent the situation.

I hope people will continue to patronize my company because they trust us, and hopefully because we will give a better deal.

Why do you call yourself "Bear"

Are you a self proclaimed Bear or does your family call you Bear? Why not Lion or Tiger? Is it a Broadlands mafia name like "Lucky" Luciano or "Dapper Don" John Gotti?

Bear, I am impressed with your knowledge and your concern for customer service. We'd like you to seal our driveway. I actually have a mailer from you with a quote in it as well. Please email me at brr3@law.georgetown.edu, or call at 703-729-1169, as I have a few other questions.

    Regards,
    Bryan

I recommend sealing about every 2 years from a practical standpoint. Many people do it every year (only for asthetics), but every 2 years is fine if asthetics are not a factor.

This is the key point that Cliff keeps missing. "Bear" has been at the helm during his previous driveway sealings that he felt went well.
He is comparing Bear at Collegiate to Bear at Academy. Unless something dramatic happened, Cliff is comparing an apple to the same apple. :p

Probably because the Parthenon is not made of concrete. :)

BTW the way there are different strengths of concrete. The lower ten feet or so of a concrete drive ajoining the street is of much high strength usually, then the rest of your drive because it is controled by VDOT.

No, your point is not correct. I compare a good driveway sealing job versus a bad one. Bear did not personally do my driveway seal the previous times by Collegiate. Had Collegiate done my driveway this year and responded the same way, I would not be using Collegiate anymore.
