We are currently using Brinks alarm system with monitoring service provided them. I saw an ad for Ackerman Security monitoring service for I believe 18.99 per month.

Anyone using them for alarm monitoring service ? Any reason why I should stick with Brinks versus these monitoring only company ?

    Thank you for your feedbacks.

May I ask what you currently pay for Brinks and is it a TH or SF?

I used NextAlarm for a while when they were $8/mo ... they were UL certified and were always punctual at calling when an alarm rose, etc.

I found this thread on Alarm Relay:

Right now I'm using the free version of NextAlarm which just pages me when something is tripped.

My parents signed up for a neat system that is only $30 a month I think. Comes with a cellular communicator to the monitoring company (so they could finally cut the landline they were keeping mostly for the old system).

They can also add passwords and review activity online e.g. when someone enters the house for cleaning etc.

They put in a new system in one house (which was free), since the existing hardwired sensors were able to be connected to the new system.

My sister used AlarmRelay when she lived in CT and thought they were fabulous. Inexpensive, responsive and had great customer service.
