I recently replaced the backup battery on my ADT security system, and then bagged ADT for Vivint. So if you have the "Simon 3" type of ADT system and haven't replaced your backup battery since it was installed (mine lasted 7-8 years), you are welcome to the new battery that I bought. PM me and it is yours.

Can you explain what the benefit of your switching to Vivint was? The guy came by my house the other night, but his timing was horrible and couldn't chat.

Just looking at the cost for replacing the window sensor (assuming they would have to be replaced when switching), the cost of the switch isn't minor.

We had an ADT systems that was 8+ years old and wanted to upgrade to the newer units that let you arm/disarm and adjust your thermostat with your smartphone. For $10/mo, more we got that and all new hardware. We tried to upgrade with ADT but they wanted $$$ to install the new system.

We had 5 door and 3 motion sensors. They were going to replace some of the sensors and add 2 thermostats for free, but when the installer got here he had to replace everything (for free) because the sensors were so old that they were incompatible.

Their system is cellular vs. wired into your land line, so a thief can't just pry open your Openband box and cut the line on your exterior wall.
