Anothai in W. Post

That was a rave review!!! And they didn't even mention the chicken nuggets! Our son cries on the way home, begging for Ms. Lalida's chicken nuggets.

Well deserved! Congratulations.

And to all you slackers out there who have not been to Anothai--just go. You're missing out!!

 

I've had Karim's duck (as mentioned in the Post review) and it was, without a doubt, the BEST duck I've ever had. Crisp and juicy, with deep fried basil sprinkled on top.

If you haven't been to Anothai, it really is something special...especially in terms of Ashburn restaurants.

Believe me...they know how to turn up the fire when you ask for it!!!!

 

...I just love the image of Anothai coming for delivery to my neighbors house, with a brand new BMW. I thought that it was one of the best "deliveries" I have ever seen! And the food was great too...

 

I had Pork in the Garden and it was personally served by the chef. He then mentioned that if we were so daring, there is a non-published menu with more dishes to sample, so he said to ask them about it next time. I'm actually afraid to know what's offered but if anyone else has, please post some of the dishes here.

 

Just want to clarify about our 'other' menu. It's actually a translation of our Thai menus. It doesn't have anything 'extraordinary', it's just 'different'. For example, we have 'Top Sap Pla' (tasty fish soup) which tastes similar to Poh Taak soup except that's its Tilapia not chicken or seafood. Some of the items, like Yum Mama, Thai Beef Jerky, Crab Fried Rice, on the 'other' menu have already made their ways into the 'regular' menu. Please feel free to ask for the 'other' menu next time.

As for the delivery, I'm honored to be named one of the best deliveries. As many of you know, our delivery time is usually 10-15 min for Broadlands residents. So I'll do whatever it takes to keep our promise whether it means delivering it with my car.

Well this is the most deserved publicity and review for my absolute favorite Thai restaurant in the world

Lalida by far is the finest owner host in the area and me and Dalyn just love her and her restaurant Lalida is just a sweetheart that we all love around here

We were watching this romantic comedy last night and at the end the guy asks the girl do you like Thai food??? She answers "of course it is one of my favorite foods and I know the perfect romantic Thai place". Dalyn and I both shouted at the movie screen at the same time. "Anothai" ha ha ha ha too bad it was too late to order some take out then.

 

all this buzz about it has me in the mood for thai now- we're heading there for dinner tonight!

 

My wife and I have been going to anothai for a few months now. It's almost a weekly takeout dinner for us. Everything we have had there has been simply amazing. Very happy to see them getting such wonderful press.

 

another amazing experience- a full house with violin players setting the mood, and continued excellent service. if you EVER get the pork in the garden you HAVE to get the MONSOON white wine from Thailand- what a delicious pairing! the lemongrass chicken was soo fresh and tasty, and her team kept our glasses full and table clear. Lalida was as welcoming and beautiful as ever- we are lucky to have such a special restaurant in our neighborhood.

great place, awesome food...

ordered 4 dishes the other night for delivery..showed up in under 15 minutes!

they are open 4:30 - 10pm on New Year's Day- if you are like me and don't cook SQUAT on the 1st day of the year- what a great first dinner for 2008!!

 

Dalyn and I ate there last Sat evening and the food was excellent as usual and Lalida and her staff are the most personable people in the restaurant business
