    we just walked over there with a stroller (since we're no longer in the DINK community)...and it looks like on the opposite side from Glory Days...it's called Callullo Cuisine or something like that....any ideas?

    Callaloo is a Caribbean restaurant that's supposed to open the first week of June. I've know the owners (husband & wife) for several years. They're Jamaican and she loves to cook fabulous food. They had a table set up at the Van Metre 5K last Saturday and were very pleased to have everything devoured quickly. I'm planning to eat out tomorrow evening somewhere over there and I'll check out the location. Didn't realize they had their sign up already.

    there's a new coffee shop/cafe going in near the five guys0 i forget its name. Bean Scene near the Ice House is great as well- love their chai!

    Bean Scene is great for coffee and they serve great food, too; Breakfast and lunch (I think they close at 7pm). It's nice to support a local place instead of a big chain.

    The new place by Five Guys is The Daily Grind. There is another Daily Grind in the Brambleton shopping center.

    Just to clarify - it's not an ABC store coming in. The Caribbean place has applied for an ABC license to sell beer and wine with their food. I had the same reaction when I saw the sign, but then read the fine print....

    That's funny if all this concern about getting another ABC store is because someone saw an ABC application on the door :D You'll find those on any restaurant that is intending to sell alchoholic beverages.
