Curious if anyone knows if another walkway / bridge will be built to the Harris-Teeter / Walgreens shopping area....

Behind the townhomes, the land across the creek is already cleared and would seem to be an appropriate crossing point (coming into the shopping area right behind the new McDonalds....

I have walked the new path to Glory Days and it's nice, but would be totally out of the way for a gallon of milk from HT. :)

Pretty sure that area floods when we get heavy rains.

The sign in front said 17 days 'til open. I think that was 2 days ago, so should be about two weeks from now.

I agree about another trail - even something that would connect closer to Demott (or on Demott), would save a long walk up and back to HT.

And by promoting more pedestrians, keep a few cars out of what I think will prove to be a woefully undersized parking lot!

Speaking of pedestrians, is there a plan for a traffic light at that intersection to get to the shopping center .. ridgeway / claiborne pkwy ??

It would help SW folks navigate by foot to SW shopping center.

Yes, but I don't know when Van Metre plans to install it.

So, Cliff, have you heard anything on another walkway?

The fencing around the shopping center has a break right behind the new McD's and the land from the townhomes is already clear, as if there is a plan to eventually place a pedestrian path there.

It would certainly ease predicted parking congestion, as another poster noted above.

I haven't heard anything about it. But as I posted on the Stone Hollow tot lot thread, Van Metre doesn't regularly share their development plan specifics with the HOA.
