I've been unsuccessfully trying to get rid of ants for months now. They've had an almost constant presence in our master bath since the end of summer last year and have recently spread around the house. Thankfully they haven't yet found the kitchen, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. We've tried all of the traditional methods to get rid of them, but need professionals to take over. Any recommendations for pest control??

I currently use and like Superior Pest Control:
    http://www.superiortermite.com/

I live in SW in one of the townhouses and the little freeloaders just marched right in this past January, looking for water. The initial treatment was $125, then Superior comes every quarter and treats the exterior for $85 (per quarter). If you need any additional interior treatments, they are free. Superior's customer service is outstanding and their treatments do not harm my cats. So far, they've been great-the ants are dead!

    Good luck!

Please be careful with the ants, they are living creatures on this earth that have needs in this world. It's inhumane to subject them to torturous deaths. I always use honey and put it far away from where the ants are around the house. They eventually get attracted away from the house. Once they have found that pile of honey, I make another pile of honey farther away. Keep doing this and eventually you won't have any ants around your house. No ants have be harmed in fact you've given them great joy by feeding them honey. By all means do not kill them.

I use and am happy with HomeTeam Pest Defense.

If you are going to use Superior, today's Valpak that comes in the mail has a $25 off coupon for new customers.

Combine a little Borateem (or Borax clothing detergent, found in the detergent section of grocery store) in a jar with some sugar. Sprinkle around area where they are coming in (if you know), or place on a piece of silver foil if you don't want to vacuum later. They're enticed by the sugar and take the borax residue to their nest. Always worked for me...
