Anything for singles?

Is anyone aware of anything just for singles in Ashburn/Broadlands? I have been looking in the monthly mailers—and I see things for new moms, bible readings, etc. but not anything for singles.

 

Although I have also not seen anything specific for singles I can recommend a web site that has been useful for identifying activities of interest: www.meetup.com

It's a website dedicated for special interest groups and you can also identify groups specific to the Northern Virginia area. For example, I'm an active member of the Northern Virginia Arabic language meeting group and have found it to be a lot of fun.

 

If you're looking for the 20s-30s crowd, gotta go to Arlington/DC. Nothing around here. Ashburn is just a family kind place.

What exactly are you looking for? Bar? club? If you're new to the area, check out Clarendon and Court House in Arlington. Clarendon is my favorite with these bars; Whitlows, Iota, Clarendon Grill, C. Ballroom, and Mr Days.

Agreed (I am 33 but married) ... There is definitely a 20s and 30s scene at Kirkpatrick's and the Ashburn Pub (both in Ashburn Village) as well as several places in Reston and Tyson's Corner. Arlington has a much higher concentration of 20s and 30s singles, so there are logically more bars and clubs, but it's not the only place.

 

The bar at the new steakhouse was hopping with folks of all ages. Moe slings a mean Martini and Wild Turkey and coke will only run you $2.30 during Happy Hour.

 

HS: only you would mix "Martini and Wild Turkey and coke". That explains a lot![8D][xx(]

 

Yeah, I know. But the Martini's are 8 bucks a pop even during Happy Hour. I can make a better one at home for less, especially since the alphabet store is right across from the bar.

 

Old Dominion Brew Pub is fun for happy hours - spent many an evening there back in the day. It's also great because it's smoke-free. Isn't it funny that everything that has been mentioned is a bar?! Ah, the good ol days.

 

New Life church meets at Regal Cinemas in Countryside sunday mornings (8:30am & 10:00am), and has a LOT of small groups for singles. Great place to meet people. Very laid back church + free continental style breakfast items & starbucks coffee + popcorn for the kiddies...

Broadlands Pub introducing "Singles Night" every Thursday night.
They are also having half priced burgers the same night.
Interested singles may use this oppurtunity.
