So there seems to be plenty of milling and paving at this corner, but I heard somewhere that they planned to expand this intersection to be a lot wider to handle all the traffic of the new condos and church that are currently under construction. Does anyone know if they are starting that now?

I heard they are improving that intersection and installing a traffic light this summer and 'yes' because of the Morely Corner construction project. I avoid that intersection like the plague so haven't seen it lately.

The completion of the 4 laning of Ashburn Village blvd, the traffic light installation, and 4 laning of Waxpool from Ashburn Village Blvd to Faulkner Parkway is being done as part of the proffers for the Morley church/school and the townhouses just north of it. That is what is underway now.
The county will be completing the 4 laning of Waxpool between Ashburn Village Blvd and Unbridled Way (where it becomes 4 lanes today by verizon.) That work is supposed to be done this year.

cool - I was wondering about that as the construction site seemed to come all the way to the existing road and didn't seem to be much space left. Glad to hear that 4 lane segment is still the way it's going to be.

Yeah well, have you been through Old asburn recently? M/I is building homes and BOOM trees are cleared on an amazing amount of land. I don't know how that road is going to handle all the traffic, unless they are routing it out somewhere at the backside of the development.
