Looking for a quality electrician who can also provide/recommend the appropriate fan for our attic.

I have dawdled for 2 years now and after this past weekends heat, I NEED one!

You also need to have a carpenter to do the roof work, unless you already have a vent you can retrofit.

We used Craig from Ashburn Electric (http://www.ashburnelectric.com/index01.html). We bought the fan at Home Depot and had him install it. He has been recommended a ton on this board, and he's a great guy. He's come back and done some other work for us. He's very reasonable, and just good people.

    Good luck!

T8 - Let me know what he charges you (estimate) if you would. I have been considering the same thing. Also, if he's available. I called him a few months back for some ceiling fan installs and he was overbooked at that time.

    Thanks!

This link doesn't appear to be valid anymore? Has this guy stopped doing the installs or does anyone have other contact info?

What is the approximate price to have one installed? (Installation only)

Do attic fans really work? Do they save on your air conditioning for the upstairs?

He had an ad in the last newsletter. I just tossed ours, so don't have it. I bet you could call information and ask for Ashburn Electric. I ran into him just a bit ago, and he's definitely still working.

As for the price - I honestly don't remember what we paid. We had other work done at the same time. I want to say that it was around $150, but am not positive.

TigerFan, yes, we have found it that it really helps keeping the upstairs cooler. Mainly because my husband works out of the upper level of our house and has at least 2 servers, and 2 PC's running at any time. It made a very noticable difference.
