Periodically our garage door will go down a little and pop back up, resulting in a cycle of frustration and rage.
We found out that if the sun is hitting just the right spot on the sensor it interferes with the door shutting.
Solution: stand in front of sensor to "shade" it with the garage door opener in your hand.
Badabing - it works. And saved money and sanity.

You may want to get a small piece of metal flashing and attach it to the sensor arm so it will provide the light shielding needed.

Or, swap the two sensors around. Had the same problem when ours were installed. Somewhere in the manual (Sears), it mentioned this problem and recommended swapping the two sensors. Had it done -- end of problem.

Or take a short piece of foam pipe insulation, slit it and place it around the sensor to provide the needed shade. We'd tried everything before a neighbor tipped us off to that trick; haven't had any problems since.
