My Wife and I did not get around to RSVP for the BBQ tonight... does it really matter?

Anybody have any idea if it is still worth us turning up with out the RSVP?

Go ahead and go. I bet there will be some who RSVPed who don't come for whatever reason, and they also probably bump the numbers a bit to account for the fact that they didn't get the RSVP info in the May newsletter like they usually do. It's not like you have to have tickets which they take at the door or anything.

We got there right around 6pm and were there until about 9pm last night. Around 8:20pm I went to get a new drink and who I think was the owner or the person in charge for carolina bros apologized because they had run out of drinks (although food was still being served). He then said that although he was informed that about 450 people had RSVP'd, he figured about 650 went through the line (he counted number of plates). He seemed very frustrated by this because he only had a few plates left. He then went on to say that this year the event itself (and the RSVP phone #) was not properly advertised on the May newsletter (as it was last year). He seemed a bit upset by this and my guess is that he just did not want to dissapoint others or let this reflect on his business. I have no real opinion on this since I did see the ad, called to rsvp, and overall had a great time. This post, however, could let the event planners know that maybe a better method for advertising and/or rsvp-ing is needed. Perhaps we need to assume a lot of people won't RSVP? Personally, we had a great time and our kids did too (minus the snake). In our eyes, the event was a success so thank you to those that organized it!

Kudos to a great BBQ party! Our family had a blast! We will definitely go again next year. And yes we did RSVP as seen in the newsletter, where we learned of the party happening in the first place.

Did the bulletin board signs around Broadlands suggest a RSVP? I know they mentioned the BBQ and time...

Absolutely delicious food! Great job everyone who organized and to Carolina Bros!!!!!!

An event this big will be bigger next year as word gets around. Admission tickets and/or meal chits may work if well managed and the caterer will appreciate it.

I didn't attend, but hear it was such a success and the organizers did such a splendid job that I will definitely go next year if one is held.
