I want to have a birthday dinner with about 15 of my friends... do you recommend any place that's reasonably priced? Also, do you know of places that have secluded areas for big parties so it doesn't feel as if we're sitting in the middle of everything? Thanks :)!

I'd try Clydes. They have lots of space in those middle rooms that they use for groups, I think. At Christmas I saw a family of about 20 in one of them--separated from the other half of the room.

How far do you want to go? I had a great birthday party dinner at the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg. They have separate dining rooms with doors so you can be private.

we had a private room at Magnolias in Purceville for my birthday a few years ago and it was spectacular. Bt it may be too small for 15 ppl- not sure if they have another, larger room.

Lightfoot is wonderful but a little pricey. Clydes is big on beautiful atmosphere, good pub menu but i'm still not a fan of their regular menu yet.

Oh! I was thinking of Clydes, but I've never been there. Isn't it a bit pricey? We're all college students, haha, so we're cheap. Do they charge extra for the middle rooms?

Oh that would be nice, but I'm trying to keep it around Ashburn/ Sterling/ maybe Fairfax.

Aw man, magnolias sounds nice too. but I used google maps and its about 30 mins from here, and like an hour from Fairfax, and I have people coming from Ashburn area and Fairfax, but I doubt they'd drive an hour ahaha.

pretty much any restaurant will accommodate you if you call in and tell them you'll have a certain number of people on a certain night. not necessarily reservations, but call ahead and tell them what you'd like to do.

we had my husband's 30th birthday dinner at Los Toltecos. They put together a bunch of tables for us and it was easy on the wallet. There were about 30 or 40 people that night.

what about Eggspectations? There's one in Leesburg and one in Chantilly. I don't think the one in Leesburg is open, but the one in Chantilly is awesome. You could take over the entire bar area (high top tables with servers). If you go on a weeknight, they have a great happy hour too.

how about Mezza Grill? I had a birthday there and they made us huge platters of various dishes- DELISHISH. I think it's still hookah after 9 on certain nights, so if you like that they have a great shisha selection.

It's local, affordable, excellent food too! the kabobs and kofte are some of the best in Ashburn!
