The updated Brambleton Town Center site plan shows the following new additions to the lifestyle and daily needs sections:

    http://www.klnb.com/PropDocs/1771.aspx

    My Thai Place restaurant
The Event restaurant (which replaces Home Plate in the corner by California Tortilla)
    The Papery
    The Nest Egg
    Birkenstock
    Classic Closets and Design
    Cradle and Crayon

They still show a bookstore in the large site right across from the theatre entrance (about 27,000 sf). Does anyone know which one that could be?

With the traffic as it is during rush hour (and rush hour being extended so long) it's nice to have so many options coming to Ashburn for stores and restaurants. I went into the A&A Music Store in the Brambleton Center the other night to ask about guitar cases for my daughter and found out they have lessons of all kinds there ($30 per 30 minutes for the guitar), do restringing and tuning ($20) and have many other things. Probably won't use it much if she doesn't do lessons, but it's still nice to have it right down the road vs in Sterling. Just wish we could get a Petco or PetsMart on this side of 28 somewhere.

This really isn't a "Broadlands Community Issue."

Wow, that will be quite a nice spot once it's all done! Did Home Plate ever even open?

No, not yet. They are actually changing their name to "THE EVENT", hence some of the the delays...Must have been a changed strategy..

At one time, we had heard that Barnes & Noble (B & N) was opening a bookstore at Brambleton Town Center. Does anyone know if this is still viable?

Barnes & Noble (B & N) is definitely planning to open a large two-level store at Villages of Leesburg in 2008-2009. I hope so!

Interesting how VACliff says this isn't a Broadlands related issue.

As a Brambleton resident we use many of the Broadlands services and visit Clyde's quite often. Once the theater is open, it will be the closest movie theater to Broadlands. These are two great communities which both residents can share and have options for needs and entertainment.

VACliff we can definitely see you're an HOA kind of guy.

Not to speak for Cliff but I think he may have thought this thread was in the "Broadlands Community Issues" thread vice the "General Topics" thread.

T8 hit it on the head. I have no problem with a Brambleton thread. It just doesn't belong under "Broadlands Community Issues." Feel free to open threads, but please read the Forum Topics to determine the most appropriate location for your thread.

Actually, when it started, it was. The sysops moved it to the appropriate location.

Great to see that! That must have just been added as I received an email the other day from the property manager that they were in negotiations with bookstores and other restaurants, but nothing could be announced yet. Now if they can just get a Petsmart or Petco somewhere in Ashburn I'd be set!

I came across this researching something else: Looks like they may be trying to get a Petco at the Dulles 28 Center: By wegmans:
See here, page 49 on the Feb report...

Also to note Pei Wei asian diner looks like they will have a location opening in Leesburg (They currently have one in Fair Lakes)

Since we hadn't been to Brambleton Town Center lately to Fox Cinema, does anyone know if Barnes & Noble is still being built?

When I was at the Reston Barnes & Noble yesterday--the bookseller said that he had heard the planned store may be on "hold" for awhile because of the economy slowdown. Just curious--would be nice to have a B&N in Ashburn.

At our last developer update meeting, we were told they were trying to work out some of the co-tenancy issues (need to have restaraunts in place, more office space). Nothing along the lines of an economic slowdown thoug.

    mwb2218 and others--

Thanks for the info. Hopefully, we will get a B&N bookstore.

A couple of folks on the Brambletonian site confirmed that Blue Ridge Grill has their liquor license request posted on their front window, so that's a good sign!
