Briar Woods High School Music Events

Your neighborhood Briar Woods High School Music Students will be having a car wash to raise funds for the upcoming school season. The car wash will be held Saturday 29 July from 9:00am to 1:00pm at two convenient locations, one here in the Broadlands at the SUNOCO station on Truro Parish and the other at Briar Woods High School on Belmont Ridge Road just before Ryan Road near Brambleton. (entrance near Football stadium). The funds raised go to defray costs for uniforms, equipment and competition events.

One event which the Briar Woods High School Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Mr. Duane Minnick, has been officially selected to perform in The New York Wind Festival in New York City in March of 2007. Briar Woods is one of 6 high school bands from around the world selected based on auditions, (including groups from Japan and London), to perform at Carnegie Hall in this prestigious event. The exact dates of the festival are, March 25th - 29th, 2007. Briar Woods individual performance will be on Wednesday afternoon, March 28th.

This is an outstanding performance opportunity and should be a once in a lifetime experience for the Briar Woods band students. Please come and support your BWHS Music Students with a car wash donation.

Thank you to everyone for supporting the BWHS Music Boosters Car Wash this past Saturday, we had a successful day. The students had a great time and stayed cool during the hot day.

Thanks also to SUNOCO for allowing us to use their facilities!
