Broadlands Live!

[size=+1]Our third season of Broadlands Live is about to begin! We have an incredible line-up this year with something for everyone. We kick things off next week on the second Friday of the month, June 9, from 5:30-9:30. Yosi, a children’s musician, is traveling here from New Jersey to entertain us with his whimsical, imaginative and enthusiastic music for us from 5:30-6:30! At about 7, Lionize takes the stage with their fresh reggae stylings- bring your dancin’ shoes! Don’t forget to bring your appetite too. Domino’s, Treviso’s & Puccio’s will be selling fabulous dinners and Smoothie King & Hershey’s Ice Cream will be cooling us down with their yummy treats (healthy or just plain decadent!). There will be water & sodas for sale and fun novelty items for the kids. If you bring your own drinks please leave the glass bottles at home.

Hi! I am a new resident. Is the concert where the Easter Egg Hunt took place or at a different location?

 

Same place. But I will suggest if you have any way poosible that you walk there it is very crowded when trying to park

 

wow what a SUPER event it was Friday- I'm not just saying that because I emcee'd lol. Big, LIVELY crowd, Yosi had the kids (and more than a few adults!) in the palm of his hand, the band was fantastic, and the food was great- Puccio's is going to do REALLY well in Ashburn!

I hope to see more of you in July- it will be another fantastic show! If you intend to have alcohol, PLEASE rememer to bring your ID's even if it's been decades since you've been carded- "rules is rules" folks!

We are having something really cool- very special- at this month's show. Gye Nyame is an african dance troupe that has performed all over the map and they are coming to dance for us (and with us) in their costumes accompianed by djimbe drummers. It is gonna be so totally rad. (yes- she said "totally rad"). This will happen 5:30-6:30.
Then at 7 the Kelly Bell Band will kick it up a notch and play some phat blues- they are a super energetic band and have more talent in their little fingers....
The show ends at 9:30...

thanks for bringing the kelly bell band to our neighborhood...we have been fans for the last 8 years or so.

Not only is my band Dr.FU playing- but we also have a special guest opening for us- ONESTOP. Ever Since Radio will not be performing tonight- and we got super lucky with Onestop- they are an awesome band that reminds me of Paul McCartney with their rich harmonies and melodic keyboards. Hey Everyone!
Thanks so much for an awesome summer- and boy oh boy Friday was crazy, wasn't it? It poured- there was lightning and thunder and people WAITED under the tunnel and on the porch of the old stone house and just under their umbrellas in the middle of the lawn with their beer for the weather to pass. And it did- and Dr.FU rocked the ampitheater!!!! If anyone was there I would love to hear how your night was- I couldn't believe how many people stuck around for like over an hour and how many people came back! I had an awesome time (and an awesome hoagie, as promised- and a really good smoothie too) and I hope everyone else did.

 

Wondered if there is any chance that Broadlands Live! would be moved to Saturday nights next year?

 

The committee is always open to suggestions! I will bring it up at a meeting and we will bat the idea around Is there anyone else who has thoughts or suggestions about the shows? Are there others that would prefer a Saturday concert?
