Broadlands youth: the good

Many people are quick to point out when there are troublemakers up to no good in our community, but I want to go public with the observation that there are many (I'd like to think most) who are truly good kids.

Someone apparently left the gate to our backyard open today, and when I came home tonight and let the dog out for two minutes, she bolted. In the time it took to drag my kids back out of bed to load them in the car to go searching, two high school boys who were out walking found our dog in the street, grabbed a leash and delivered her home safe.

I don't know their names, but thanks to the two boys walking in the pouring rain on Milford tonight for making two little girls, their mom, and one soggy dog much happier. And if they're your sons, thanks go to you as well for having kids who go out of their way to do the right thing.

So glad to hear good news - especially when I was feeling bummed out about the spray painting on the trails. It's good to be reminded that there are a lot of good kids in our neighborhood.

 

Ahhh...great news indeed and of course, there's always great kids around! Kudos to those kids for doing the right thing!
