This is 5 year old Mistusishi DLP TV that needs some repair. The diag codes claim the lamp ballast/fan control board is at fault but rather than sink money into it I just want to replace it. I've already tried two bulbs so it's not that. The TV will come on and work fine for up to a few hours before hard shutting off. Unplugging it for a few minutes will allow it to come back on but for only 10-15 minutes. It's likely not worth paying a pro to fix it but anyone with a bit more electronic tech skills may be able to make use of it.

My TV did the same thing about a year ago. I had a tech replace a component for around 350-400 dollars. The TV has been fine ever since. I think it was Paul's TV or something like that.

    good luck

What is the model # or SN of the TV? And what other info can you give me that might help me figure out if I can fix it? (Diagnostic code - how did you get this?)

    Thanks

It's a WD-52725. I guess that would make it a 52" and not a 55". The diag code can be obtained by hitting a series of buttons on power up which causes the LED to flash in such a way to display a two digit code which was 37. A lot of reading into it suggests it could be as simple as a dead fan or an entire board needs to be replaced.
